I Finally Said "NO!" to Failure!
Success comes at the hand of many failures. The important thing is to continue on the path you have chosen and follow after Peace.
I just had a real life experience while trying to find a way to supplement my income when I retire in September. I saw a business and was very close to buying in, but I had doubts it was the right decision. The salesman let me have my space, but I still had an overarching fear of disappointing him after all the time he spent with me trying to put the deal together.
A couple of weeks into the business venture, I found a Wealthy Affiliate Link and clicked on. I joined (it was free after all). I felt nothing but excitement and purpose and creativity rising up within me again! Certainly this was too good to be true?!?
Long story short, I finally said no to the salesman (nice guy and a reputable business). It was not easy. I went back and forth, back and forth, day after day! I was on the verge of pleasing' the salesman at my own expense. I had failed here before...many times.
I had no peace. My previous failures came to mind. I lost a lot of $$$ feeling the feeling I was feeling with this deal. BUT! I had no peace! I said NO! I was healed! I was able to look at the situation, remember my past failures, and make the best decision for ME!
I was 'fortunate' to have the WA experience to compare it to. On the one side was skepticism and fear, and on the other was excitement, direction, creativity and open-ended possibilities! I am so happy to be here. It was the right decision, and I made it because I learned from past failures.

Ah - such a good post about those crossroad points where we almost feel obligated into a decision and then free ourselves. I think you did the right thing and saved yourself from that agony. Kudos and very well-written piece. :)

Just him and I ('til dad came home), with his curly, gorgeous red hair and laugh that would touch every fiber of my being.... his presence changed me more that any other person, place or thing in my almost 60 years! I'm filled with joy every time I see your picture come up in a post or reply. You have that same look in your eyes.....
It is a painful learing curve, to recognize and heed the voice within, when we are making a decision. Right or wrong.....right or wrong......over and over.............I've been there. Compare that to the joy and excitement and sense of peace when we know we are on the right path (where I'm at now). It is still up to us to make it work, but knowing you are in the right place at the right time will allow you to proceed with no holds barred. Congratulations on making the best decision for you. You may still end up getting a 'brick and mortar' business....when the time is right and your insides agree. Listen and heed that voice within....I am so happy you found WA....now let's do this!
You know sometimes our past failures are what make us what we are today!
I too have had many past failures and now I know that I am where I am to be.
Sometimes I still go looking on the internet and think the grass is greener on the other side, but I think long and hard and know that WA is where I need to be.

I've learned over the years that life throws many attractive options in front of us, but most are simply diversions that threaten to take us away from the true path for ourselves.
