What is a Paid Domain?
Today is my Day 22 at WA. I learned about paid domain.
After setting my website with 1 page and 3 posts at free WorkPress, located in Site Rubrix, I begin to ask ... what else? how to make my site even more attractive? how to monetise my site effectively?
More questions in my mind e.g. Should I use free domains or paid domains?
On Day 22 or earlier at WA, it should be a good time for you to know more about paid domains. It is definitely - a good time for me to find out more about paid domains.
Under one paid domain, you can create your own website name (ending with .com, .org or .net).
Recap: Under free domains (e.g. 2 free site rubrix at WA), one page should be readily present. Usually the page title is 'About Me'. You can add more static pages, as you go along in the rubrix site. If you wish to find out more about pages of your site, go to search bar (left side of the aeroplane icon) and type 'page' or 'what is page' and read the tutorials or blogs by WA community.
What is a Domain?
Under one paid domain (for example for this tutorial, ending with .com), the title of your paid domain will be www.dailypositivity.com. Disclaimer: This is a dummy web site.
This paid domain can have multiple websites.
(a) If you wish to show the price of subscribing daily positivity services, you can add /insert your website/fixed page/static web page/ (all have the same name) as http://dailypositivity.com/
This is known as your Home Page. All the information about your business services will be available for everyone to view on the Home Page on your paid domain name.
(b) If you wish to have customer testimonials on your domain, this is an example of another website/fixed/static webpage within your paid domain e.g. http://dailypositivity.com/testimonials
(c) If you wish others to contact you on your website, this is an example of another website/fixed/static webpage within your paid domain e.g. http://dailypositivity.com/contact
(d) ....and so on
Conclusion:
A web site consists of a set of web pages shown from (a) to (d)
One domain can even have multiple websites, as long as it's all under one domain, such as:
Each domain name (1 web address) has a web site by itself. You need 1 hosting accounts to host 1 domain name.
If you wish to create 5 new domains, you will need 5 hosting accounts to host 5 new domain names. If you are looking for one hosting account to host 5 names then it doesn't work this way.
After all this ........ you may ask me: What is Domain, again, Robin?
PLEASE allow me direct you to the search bar menu (on the left side of the aeroplane) and type 'domain'. There is a list of beautiful blogs and training to get you know more about domains. TIP: Always use the search bar menu to guide you.
Should I continue to use free domains or paid domain?
I will be able to share with you in the coming weeks, or if you have success stories on paid domain, do share your stories too.
I hope you have found this post useful...if you did...please click the LIKE button, help orientate me (and others) about paid domains and let me know what you think!
Thank you for your wonderful feedback.
To your health and greater success...
