Okay, first I'd like to publicly thank ALL who've welcomed me and shown great positive response to my presence here. Community is rare and even more precious than one can imagine. Like minded people aren't always that. One persons perception of relevant content is another's fluff article for the sake of writing. Being an author and writer I understand both. There IS a difference between the two. A writer takes a subject, researches it, then writes according to their own (or possibly someone elses if they were hired to write it) concepts or beliefs is the most acurrate presentation of the facts. These are presented to their audience for consumption and or education.

An author, on the other hand, takes their OWN imagination and creates a storyline that draws the reader in and involves them in the story with intrigue, mystery and drama. ALL of which you, as the reader, can take advantage of and imagine the worlds of possibility that are described. Everyone's concept will vary, and that's what makes it unique. Imagine if you will, a unicorn. Now everyone's idea will differ, from shades of color, to type of horn or length. Until it's made into a video where ONE persons concepts are shown, it's open to interpretation. And one persons ideaologies are just that, THEIR own.

So often in this day and age, we as a people, tend to go with the flow of whatever everyone else is doing and seldom do we stray from what is considered normal. I've said ALL this to say one very important thing. I've discovered that there ARE people who think outside of the box here. Saying you will be willing to help people when they have questions is all well and good, but actually answering emails and pointing to information when needed IS what community is all about. I also noticed that being a premium member isn't the end all be all here, but the beginning of a great deal more. People have filled my inbox with congratulations and more than I would have hoped for in the way of offers for assistance and friendship.

In my business, I'm used to dealing with people who've been writers or have never writtten more than a shopping list in their lives. As you might guess, this takes a special sort of finesse to deal with the seemingly never ending questions of how long or when will MY book be done? Fortunately for me, I've dealt with this for awhile and know what to say or tell someone who wants it done RIGHT NOW! Patience is a virtue and a masterpiece, no matter how small, takes time to create and perfect. Even more time when one is trying to make it right for the umpteenth time as the author hasn't clearly defined what it is they wish to convey in their writings. Edits, rewrites and such work to make the writing prefect and improve the writer's skills as well. After forty plus years, I've gotten rather good at knowing what the writer or author is trying to say, and have on many occasions, written for them what they merely imagined and hoped would be conveyed. Ghost writing is a very difficult arena to be in, but I have survived and in many instances flourished therein.

NOW I am expanding into the arena of affiliated marketing once more to broaden the horizons of myself and those I represent at Khinsharri Publishing. The past is behind me, no looking back as there's no profit in that. I look forward to being a productive member of this community and hope to make many friends and perhaps tell some of your own stories through ebooks and more. Happy Writing.... Bob

Thank you for your post, I find it very informative. I hope one day you will be able to write my story. Love it.

I would love to read what you've written so far. My services aren't impossibly hard to come by and I am very reasonable for what I do offer. If you have a germ of an idea, send me a message, we'll review it and see where it leads. Who knows YOU may be the next Shakespeare.

I am going to prepare my work in a type written format and reach out to get your information for forwarding.

Wonderful. Just let me know what and when and I'll get you there.

Hi Bob...sounds like you going to have a lot to offer. Very well, written post. Never thought about the difference between author and writer....makes sense.

Hello Droseh! I am thankful that I love writing and authoring books. That's why when they spoke to me about a Niche, I was way ahead of the curve there. I've spent several years trying to find some way to get the marketing down so that the authors and writers I represent could find a place to bring their works. Thank you also for the reply. Many people wonder the difference between the two and some don't realize that being an author is very difficult because you have to engage your readers into a world OF YOUR OWN making, there's nothing that's already there and you simply describe what you witness, like in writing about a specified topic.
Writer's block is one thing, meaning you have researched it and can't find an unusual or unique way to present the facts. Author's block means you've exhausted the possibilities in your mind and can't conceive of a way to find a good ending to this storyline. many people confuse those as well. Fear also plays a huge part in it, and often an author will stick to a tried and true method that they have found works for them in the past. That way they are more convinced of success rather than stepping out into unknown territory and possibly failing.
For example, in a murder mystery, you usually KNOW who was killed in the first few pages if not the first chapter at least. That sets the tone for the entire book right? I have an author that tells you who the players are, much of their history in the first 5 chapters, then criss-cross back and forth between characters until it comes to a rushing conclusion at the end.
Talk about hard to follow! From the first draft, I had to keep reminding myself that this was supposed to read like this and that when I finally got to the end it makes sense. This is where the services of a ghost-writer, (ME) came into play. I took what was a hodgepodge of ideas about characters, how they should meet and a possible ending, to meld them all together cohesively into a story that people would be able to understand and relate to.
It took 7 edits and rewrites until the author was satisfied that this was the story they wanted to tell, with some minor modifications to it to allow for fluid reading and story plot line. After 3 months of working with them, it was finished and we began the real work of making it into an acceptable format for publishing and possible sales.
In the end, it became a workable piece of fiction that I have been working to finalize and make available to the public. It's also in a fairly unique niche of its own. It's a Gangsta-crime novel. While it has a good storyline, it's also full of very violent actions and adult situations that preclude it being generally accepted by the masses.
The only reason I took it on is it was something I'd never done before, and with the racial diversity presented in it, it was meant to be a statement of the times and not exactly just a work of fiction. Should it pan out, there's room for more in the series to follow. and THAT'S what I'm looking for, a growing audience that will find it worthwhile to read and garner the social meanings in it with an open mind and edge of your seat anticipation.

your experience and dedication will prove very useful.
wishing you much success!
