I thought this would never come, but the IRS has granted the non-profit I started December 18, 2013 tax exempt status under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code.
Our organization is also qualified to receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers or gifts under section 2055, 2106 or 2522 of the Code. Plus, our organization under section 501(c)(3) was determined a public charity under the Code section(s) of the letter we received.
This is great News for our organization! I filed the IRS Form 1023 March 7, 2014 and received the approval IRS letter finally this September 2014. WA is helping me with this organization as I move forward. I am so glad I am a member of WA and learning what will help me with my best content for the website and advertising.
Anyway, I just got the letter - so happy for what we will be able to do in Tacoma for inner city youth through this organization.
