There’s a quick buck that lasts a few months to years (riding the wave) and there’s a website (or more) that accumulates revenue.
Which are you building?
This year, I’ve tinkered with AI starting with WA’s AI, then to GPT, now to Claude. It doesn’t matter the tool I use, it’s what it does for productivity. I find currently, I’ve less editing to do with Claude. That’s time saved - the difference between 1 post and 3 posts - in a single day!
The point is, the business building aspect.

We’ve a new roof and a new car to finance. It feels like the logical thing to do is the fast cash route. In my case, that’d be chasing freelance work. I’ve spent over a decade doing that and it’s served clients best. Not my fam. So no more.
For me, it's family over a stranger's aspirations. I firmly believe if I’d held to the core principles of building an audience and serving them best years back, I’d be in a better financial position.
The reason I say this now is because almost every tool I look at has some sort of discount for an annual plan. And it’s worth serious consideration because the affiliate marketing business model is likely to take at least a year to break even.
These days, I’m seeing trickles of commissions come in from a 2-year old site, and that was an experimental one - the site I built in core training.
Now, with the advantage of experience and data, I’m on my second site, and one that’s of higher commercial intent.
What’s your experience been on second sites? Have you learned from your first sites and applied that to your second site to fast-track earnings?
