Newbie thoughts and revelations.
On my first day, I noticed that one of the things I had to do was make at least 2 comments to interact with WA community. I was ready to settle in to learn the theory and put it into practice but I had to do it- so I did. I have been in marketing before( I think in America , you call it 'warm marketing' and I'm from Aussie) and did not enjoy the social aspect of uplines and downlines- the financial pressure to do well for everyone's sake, insincere friendships, people fawning over you etc. What I have come to realize, in just a couple of days. is just how much I am learning by connecting with others in the WA community through blogs, questions, looking at the websites of others. The helpfulness of others who don't necessarily profit from your venture is fantastic. And, I suppose, the only person you disappoint or have to answer to, is yourself, at the end of the day! It suits me and it is something I feel comfortable with.
I would advise any newbie to get into the social interaction and cruise through blogs, questions and answers, ask questions even if you feel a bit silly, and look at others websites to see what appeals to you in terms of layout, and what all the theory is all about. You can see the functional side of the theory ie. if you do this (training), this is what you end up with! As a teacher, one of the best strategies I could use was modeling the skills that I taught the students-and my community at WA does that for me. They are the models I look at. I know what I am aiming for. There are lots of things to learn as some of the language in questions are alien to me at this time but I will just put one foot in front of the other and move through the training and not try to jump or worry about things that lay ahead.
I do get little butterflies(or moths) at times, wondering if I'll be successful or not but no business started off being a roaring success on day 2. I have to take my own advice to students and not be afraid to make mistakes, trust in the learning, take things step by step, and see what works.
I think it will work to have daily objectives. Today, I'm going to peruse some websites and note down features that I like about them, and hopefully, get around to some more training. Here goes!
As well as butterflies in my tummy, WA has really ignited a fire within me to succeed.
