Managing With A Spreadsheet

If you are just starting with WA, I have an invaluable advice to give you that I would have given myself. And even if you are months or years into WA, perhaps you could benefit from this.

I am barely a month in WA but I am finding out that it takes more than just a simple website to really get things going with earning a passive income. In fact, your website is more like a shop on the street. Your job is to create an awesome atmosphere and awesome product that will attract people and make them stay because the statistics are; the more people the better the chance of something being bought, and the longer they stay will increase that chance further.

But more than just a shop, you will need people to supply you with the products and that is where affiliate marketing gets a bit crazy. There is Amazon, eBay, CJ, Linkshare, Google Analytics, Adsense, Adwords, and millions more that are out there on the internet waiting for you to jump on the wagon with them. And I haven't even highlighted the various social medias where we will need to use as marketing tools.

And when it gets this crazy, it is easy to get out of control and lose valuable information. Like the many usernames and passwords for different websites, the content of advertisers, which advert went to which page, what has been updated on your website and so on.

Since I started I have been spending at least 5 hours a day working on the websites. It was cool at first, now it's starting to get brain-achy. And I knew I needed to manage things somehow. And the best way I knew how to manage was to go visual. I need to see everything as objects and how they all link together. So I created a spreadsheet. My main table containing my website details, then another that records all my affiliate accounts, yet another records the various social media sites. There are other tables as well. It took a lot of effort to consolidate it into one place but it was worth it. Now, I can look at this and know exactly where I am with everything.

I want to encourage you guys, especially those new to WA. Record your details on a spreadsheet as you go. You'll have less a headache later on. For those that have been doing WA for a while, I'm sure each of you have a way to deal with the situation. I would love to hear about it in the comments section.

Regards,

Eddy

Think the best way is to keep it simple. I don't want to bring too many affiliate links to the website. it can get overwhelming. Will just stick to WA. Regards Sadie.

riowithme Wonderful post You are working too hard five hours a day. So one website for one affiliate product? is this how you are working? Please let me know this . How many affiliate products and if they are from one seller or different sellers. Good luck and hoping to hear soon about your sales. .

Hey Fran. I have 2 websites up right now. And no. You can have as many affiliate products for one website as you want. But be careful. The thing that is different with setting up a shop on the internet is that we can't just dump products on our shelf and hope that people will come. The way we attract people to come is by bringing value to them first. Hence, the niche and creating valuable posts and blogs. And it is in our posts and blogs that we recommend a product to them. For example, Kyle's training "How To Lose Belly Fat", later on, he will do a review of a blender and how it helped him lose a few inches and why he felt it was a good product. He could go on to recommend other items that are affiliate products as well. But the key to it all is traffic. No traffic, no dough. Little traffic, some dough. Massive traffic, sure dough.

riowthme Wow You explained it so well. For three days I was so puzzled finding a way to do what I want to do. Based on my passion and experience I want to select a domain, "planning for "Whole child development" Blog will be directed to all parents and care providers, and in between related products . Of course traffic, via all directions . Does this sound right to you? Thank you for taking and writing a detailed reply. I appreciate that very much.

Hi Fran. I think "Whole Child Development" is still very broad. "Whole Child Development" in what area specifically? Newborn? Toddler? Young children, teenager? Do you have a name yet? The traffic will come from all directions we hope!

riowithme Thanks friend for taking your time and explaining it to me. Enjoy a beautiful day.

Actually I was thinking the same as if it is very broad. Then I search and found bloggers using it. But since I am a beginner I will have to make it narrow. Thank you again. Let me come up with a narrower niche. Thanks for all the support.

You're welcome. Narrower is better. Even a small fraction of audience are thousands of people on the internet.
