How to face your fears & just START already, even when you have no clue how or where.
So, if you're like me, you are constantly motivated by new challenges and chasing your dreams. But there's also your lil subconscious or your inner critic that is always after you, trying to stop you and get you all freaked out and scared so you will just stay where you currently are, and not step out into the unknown, scary abyss and turn your dreams into a reality.
This is a natural feeling/reaction when we are chasing something we are interested in or wanting to master something, or reach a goal that we genuinely have no clue how the heck to achieve. It's in our blood to play it safe and work with what we know.
However, here's the bad news about what that will do:
- never reach your goals
- start something and never finish it
- stay where you are, whether you like it or not
- recreate a crap ton of REGRET in our lives, and "what ifs"
Sounds like a bunch of sad and lame ways to really live your life, am I right? Well, it's time to stop over thinking and doubting yourself, and take ACTION. And here are incredibly helpful tips that helped me to do this, and I hope will help you too:
- Just START. Even if you have no clue how or where, start somewhere, and put the pieces together as you get to them.
- Realize that no one and nothing is "perfect" - whatever that means to you. Try and try and try again and know that you will continuously fail.
- Fail and fail A LOT. Don't be scared of this little "F" word. Failing is GOOD. We were taught to believe it is bad and that we don't want to do it and that if we ever do then it's time to retreat but this is FALSE. A False belief. Why? Because:
- Failure leads to SUCCESS. The more you fail, the more you are told "no" or "this isn't gonna work", the more you can listen and understand exactly why people think this, and decide whether or not to listen to what they have to say. Chances are, most of the time they are just scared for you, or trying to "protect" you and keep you in your safe zone. If this is the case, get OUT of your safe zone.
- MAKE A SCHEDULE AND STICK TO IT. This is the biggest thing that has helped me with creating the life I genuinely want to live. If you are not where you want to be currently - whether it be financially, socially, healthy, etc., set a schedule where you work towards where you want to be and take action steps to get there every day.
