A Glimmer Of Hope.

Alright guys, I have been at this for around six months now and I haven't seen any real results to this point. I have begun to get a little discouraged. I was starting to think maybe this just isn't my thing.

A little bit of a disclaimer... I am a very busy person. With 4 kids a wife and a full time job i haven't been super busy working on my website, but I have been trying to fit it in when i can. So I'm sure there are many of you who have had more success than me in a shorter amount of time.

My first website was disbeefrisbee.com which is a site dedicated to disc golf. I obviously didn't know a thing about affiliate marketing, SEO, or anything to do with abuilding an online business. So it isn't a very well put together site at all.

Today i was just looking at my competition and my seeing if i could find my ranking for any of my keywords just by searching in google. When I caught a glimmer of hope.

I ACTUALLY HAVE A PAGE THAT RANKS ON THE FIRST PAGE OF GOOGLE!!! Now I know this isn't an amazing accomplishment, but I really made me feel better about the work i put into my site.

That is me right there! Disc golf numbers explained-In Depth! Disbeefrisbee.com baby!

Google put me on the first page out of 653,000 results. I think that is amazing.

Anyways you guys just don't know how excited this very small victory makes me. So I think that this is proof that this training here at WA works. And I know that if I can rank on page #1 then just about anybody can do it.

I hope you guys can get some encouragement from this blog and thanks for lending me your ear for a bit. Well more like your eyes...

Good luck guys.

Congrats and try not to discount your accomplishment, no matter how small you feel it is.

Many of us struggle to make time to do what we need to do. The truly dedicated ones somehow find that time.

Now that you've seen that something can happen, perhaps you'll figure out a way to budget a few hours each week into a few posts.

I noticed you linked to Infinite Discs. When you have some more content, you could consider joining their affiliate program. You might also want to look into other merchants as well when the time comes.

And if it turns out that this isn't your "thing" ;) don't sweat it. We don't know until we try.

Best wishes.

Thanks for the reply Chris. I'm gonna try putting in some more time on my sites.

And about the infinite discs affiliate program. I joined theirs already and they said all I have to do is place a link to any of their pages and it would be tracked to me. Didn't give me an official affiliate link though... I have been a little sceptical about that. What do ya think?

You're welcome.

Give what you can and see if it's something you want to pursue. I don't give my sites nearly enough time and I don't have any kids. Plus my job is only an 8 minute commute.

You may want to put everything you can into one site initially just to see how things go, especially since time is tight.

As for that claim by Infinite Discs, ummmm no. I would be curious as to how they claim to track affiliate sales. In my first reply, I almost mentioned that one big "leak" that can cost affiliates money is a prominent phone number on the site. I deliberately skipped it since you weren't really at that point yet.

It looks like it might be a challenge to find a viable disc golf affiliate program, but something can probably be found whether it's at Amazon or elsewhere.

Yeah I may have to remove those links. Guess they can't be trusted. I'll take my services elsewhere. Lol. I'm sure they won't mind.
Thanks again for the feedback sir.
