5 Ways to Take Advantage of Serendipity in 2015

Those special moments when things just seem to align in wonderful ways that were never anticipated…. Serendipity!

Bare yourself to serendipity and watch your luck improve:

• Pay Attention - Be prepared to use the traits of curiosity, flexibility, courage, diligence, and alertness as they will surely help you recognize any opportunities and act upon them. Get away from your computer and cell phone for a short period everyday to observe the world around you.
• Save Time On Your Calendar - Open your calendar up… Don’t close yourself off to serendipity… Meditate, take a walk, sit on a park bench. Let connections, patterns and ideas expose themselves.
• Double Down On Your Odds - Try more things and more good things will happen. If you try 20 new things, you might have 10 good things happen to you by the end of the year. Don’t wait to try things until you think they will be successful because you might only get 2-3 that actually happen but in the year.
• Take Some Risks - Serendipity is more likely to strike if you expose yourself to new people, places….. Get outside your comfort zone and your warm market. New information gives you a chance to be creative…… Make connections that lead to serendipity.
• Let loose - it is said that genetic variation in the brain affects some people who are less anxious and more easily able to forget bad experiences…….The unlucky ones tend to be collectors of data of the bad experiences thus remembering all information surrounding negative events and weighing them all equally. In this case the opportunity of a “serendipity happening” is less likely.
