Hi WA family,

I can hardly believe it has already been 7 months since I began my WA journey. I have learned so much and continue to learn every day.

I want to start off by thanking Kyle and Carson for creating this platform for us all to learn and grow as aspiring entrepreneurs.

I would also like to thank my sponsor, Joey. Thank you so much for your words of encouragement and helpful advice.

I also want to extend my heartfelt thanks to all of you here in this WA community. While I don't engage in conversation as much as some of you, I do read the comment thread and posts each day.

It truly is amazing to be a part of such a supportive community.

So what have I done in my 7 months here?

When I joined, I recognized the value here right away and went premium within a day or two.

I recruited my wife(Deb) immediately as we truly are a team and work together at everything we do from building a business to sailing our 26' sailboat.

I find a lot of similarities between sailing and business as I will explain through this post.

Before we even begin our training we are encouraged to set goals, both long and short term. Just like in sailing you need to plot your course. You won't get anywhere if you don't have a destination in mind.

We then begin steadily going through the training and trying to make sense of it all as we begin to build our site. I find this is very similar to going over every inch of the vessel, making necessary repairs and ensuring she is sea-worthy.

Adding regular content could be comparable to laying up stores. Ensuring we have adequate food, fresh water, warm weather clothes, cool weather clothes, wet weather gear. Making sure the sails and rigging is in good working order.

We then need to learn to use Pinterest, Twitter and Facebook to drive traffic to our site as we continue with our training and also following along in Jay's live training and implementing those suggestions. In sailing we need to let family know where we will be headed and expected times of arrival at various ports. We also need to check with the various ports to verify available mooring or dock space and the necessary documentation required for entry. These ports also need to know our ETA.

Finally, you start getting little trickles of traffic and the journey begins. This would be like motoring out of port as you are finally under way. Of course you still haven't raised your sails yet but that will come in time. Just like that first sale will come in time.

And of course, going back and tweaking some old posts can certainly be equated to trimming the sails, making little adjustments to gain the best performance.

As you can see, there is a seemingly endless list of things to get done before your site is ready for traffic and I believe that could be why it takes so long to get traffic initially. I mean your site needs to have enough content to make it worthwhile for Google to send you traffic. I could be wrong and please correct me if I am for I am still learning.

Since we are working as a team we each selected a niche and created a website for each niche and they are:

We each focus on one site and try to post at least 2 articles a week on each site.

Currently the 'veteransaffiliatesuccess' site has 57 posts and 50% trust, while the 'grandparentingtype1diabetes' site has 70 posts and 70% trust.

We are currently working through level 4 of the training and struggling to understand and implement the use of social media.

We are really having a difficult time being consistent in this area as these platforms are completly foreign to us. Any suggestions are welcome.

Jay, your training on Pinterest was amazing and we are getting more comfortable with that but still need to work on the consistency of creating pins for every post.

Twitter is a whole new concept and neither of us are really grasping that concept well but we are trying.

Neither site has any traffic other than through WA comments but we know if we persist it will come.

In spite of our social media struggles we are having the time of our life as we work towards building that residual income that will allow us to travel when this pandemic is over.

Thanks again WA for allowing us to truly build the future we have dreamed of. We will continue learning and growing daily as we continue our journey. One day we will reach our destination and until then we will continue to enjoy the journey.

Take care everyone and stay safe.

Rick

Keep up the great work my friend, I wish you much success 🤩

Hi Rick, thanks for sharing your journey. I wish you every success.

Congratulations on your achievements so far, It is a good idea that you each focus on one website it can be very daunting trying to focus on two unless you have a writer. Wishing you both success.

Congratulations and wishing another 7 months of lucrative WA experience.
