Finding Photos For Your Website
Finding images for your website seems to cause a few problems for some. Using images that are in the public domain is one solution, but can you be certain they are in the public domain?
I prefer to use images that are licensed under Creative Commons.
A site I often use is photopin.com. It searches Flickr and brings back photos that are licensed under Creative Commons.
Just be aware that there are different forms of Creative Commons licensing. Many will be licensed for non-commercial use only. If you want one licensed for commercial use you can check 'commercial' on the menu on the left. This will weed out the non-commercial photos.
And all photos you use will want attribution, which means you must give credit for the photo. Photopin makes this easy by providing the code for attribution. Simply copy this HTML code and paste it on the bottom of your post.
Have fun,
Richard.
