Law of Attraction
I've thought about the Law of Attraction for quite some time now. The following is what I've discovered:
Many wise mend and women have been saying the same thing for thousands of years. Many wise men and wise women say the same thing today. We do become what we think aboout most. This actually appears to be true.
This is much more than simply thinking positively, although that certainly helps.
The Law of Attraction can work both ways. Your thinking can produce both positive or negative results. It has to do with what you choose to think about with the conscious mind. The thoughts in the conscious mind are impressed on the subconscious mind. Therefore keep your thoughts positive if you want positive results.
The subconscious mind doesn't have the ability to make a choice. It only accepts what is impressed upon it by the conscious mind, good or bad. If you constantly focus on lack and despair, those are the the results you'll get. You'll continue to experience lack and despair. Therefore guard your thoughts. Get good results. Live a happy and purposeful life.
We do have a choice about what we think about.
It's taken me a lifetime to learn this. I still have slips sometimes. It's not always easy, especially when I face difficult or challenging times. It's a process, but I'm definitely headed in the right direction now.
It's simply amazing when you consider the power of our thoughts.

I agree, Bob. I think some of the circumstances of my life have been because of focus on what I wanted to happen for many years. One example... as a young boy I dreamed of living with native Americans after seeing some petroglyphs. Twenty years later I ended up living in a tiny native village living out my dream. I think the Law of Attraction may well better be termed the law of focus and intense choice.

Hi Bob...you and Jason here sum this up very nice in your chain. I have often thought about what the Law of Attraction meant. I have come to now believe that the Law of Attraction argues that positive thoughts and actions reap positive rewards and vice versa for negative ones.
There is much written about this...thank you for sharing this interesting blog!

Hi Bob,
There is much merit in this line of thinking. Many philosophies and religions say this in different ways. I've felt Buddha was most descriptive on his topic of suffering and its causes.
To understand how we are impacting/influencing the law of attraction, it's necessary to stalk our thoughts with a detachment, so we can follow them and understand their foundations which we built and cling on with all of our energy with.
Great post.
Regards,
Jason
I agree with the Buddha. I think he says the same thing. We must be compassionate toward ourselves and detached from all things. Clinging to anything causes suffering.
Yes, I can remember when I was younger I thought the Buddha and any who followed him were crazy. The idea of detachment and all of its implications meant the loss of everything great in my mind.
I'm guessing as we enter the winter of our lives and have endured so many losses we can see clearly it was our attachments that played a key role in the suffering those losses have brought.
Regards,
Jason
Attachments are impermanent. They pass away. And when they pass away we suffer. Yet we cling to them anyway. If we would cling less, we would suffer less.
