How Do You Eat an Elephant?
One bite at a time.
Sometimes I feel that being in WA is like eating an elephant. So much to learn and absorb! But I know that learning can and does take place. The success I'm seeking will not occur overnight, but only with regular and consistent action.
Having goals is important, but this is not enough. I must take action. This may mean performing tasks when I don't particularly feel like doing anything. I'd much rather stay in bed than write yet another post. It's a matter of the will. Giving yourself a command and then doing it. That's not always easy to do.
President Kennedy once asked Dr. Werner Von Braun what it would take to get a man to the moon. Von Braun answered, "The will to do it." So accomplishing anything has a lot to do with the will to act.
This is what I do, even if I don't feel like it. I put my daily goals in writing. This is a list of daily tasks I intend to complete every day. Then as I complete each task, I document it. That way, I have my list of tasks but I also know I completed them because I have documentation.
Honestly, sometimes even this doesn't work. If, for whatever reason, this strategy doesn't work I just give myself a little self-compassion and start over again. Self-compassion works every time.
How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.

Those are very true words. And one of the best parts of this is you can work at your own pace. There is so much to constantly learn. Great reminder.

How do you eat an Elephant you ask?
With a really Big SPOON, LOL
Just kidding, you eat it one bite at a time.
Be safe

One small bite at a time, Bob! I've read this and practiced it many times before, and it is as relevant today as it was then, my friend! The analogy carries over to any seemingly insurmountable task. An excellent reminder, my friend!

One bite at a time indeed Bob!
I prefer to skin them, then chop em up into steaks to grill on the barbie!!
After that (and a bit of seasoning of course) it is one bite at a time!
It may take some time... but being consistent and persistent will get us to where we want to be my friend! :-)
