Hi! Just wondering if any of you decided to go through with the PHP7 update through WA. If you did: how long did it take for you to get all updated and able to use your site ag

Hey Andrea,

Moving your website to the BETA server means it should load faster.

There MAY be issues with any older plugins that you are using if they have not been updated in the last 12 months or more... but that will be determined once the move is made.

SiteSupport can move your website during a time when you are not apt to be online... if you let them know you would prefer it moved during those hours.

My sites were moved so quickly that I never even noticed. SiteSupport simply let me know that they were move and to keep an eye on them.

Remember too... using a BETA server means it MAY come with issues, like temporary outages... but, SiteSupport are quick to get things back up and running once they have been made aware of any issues.

The world won't stop turning if your site is unreachable for a short spell... though sometimes we all forget that part.

All I can tell you is I am soooooo glad my sites are now on the BETA PHP 7 server! :-))

Hope this helps you.

Thank you for such a substantive response. I’ve been waiting for 2 days for the switch to be complete. I wonder when it will be done. I’ve not been able to post since Saturday.

Have you asked SiteSupport if the move has been completed yet? It may be already on the BETA server.

I received communication from them a few hours ago stating that it had just been completed. Not sure why it took so long but I’m excited! Thank you!

The length of time may have been due to the number of sites that were lined up ahead of yours to be moved.

We need to always remember that there is a very large number of members here and only one SiteSupport team.

Glad your issue is now resolve. Yeaaaaah!

Authoring & Writing Content
Updated

I just created my website a week ago. I have 4 or 5 pieces of content. My website and most articles have been indexed but not yet ranked by google. I am at the part of training

Hi dear, just a gentle reminder to remove your link, as it will be perceived as self promoting. As for your question, in my opinion it is a little early. I had followed the training to a tee, and joined Amazon etc as told.

What I later found out, was that Amazon has a 6 month or 180 days to get three sales rule. This meant by joining early, I used up most of those days before I finally understood how important it was to attract traffic through quality content, in order to make a sale.

However, on saying that, I do suggest adding back links to information or sites that can help you gain traffic, and support your researched info.

Hope that helps

Hi!
Link removed from the question! Thanks for the heads up! I thoroughly appreciate your input. It certainly feels a bit too early to add links at this point.
I already created an Amazon Associate account though. Do you think that I should experiment with Amazon links while creating content just to get a feel?
