Preparing for Success
Good Day folks,
I know I have not been visible for the past several days, however just because I have not been updating my status, doesn't mean I haven't been busy. In preparation for our successful business, we made a decision that we needed to have the right tools. I completely believe that I have taken the right step by becoming a member of WA, however our (We=WA) tool box contains many types of tools.
The tools we added to our tools box this weekend are:
Motherboard, CPU, aftermarket CPU fan, 126 SDD, 16g DDR3, and a Video card... And the best part, as I went with AMD instead of Intel, I was able to purchase 2 of each!!! Essentially ALL NEW GUTZ for both my computer and my wife's computer!!!!
In addition, we contacted our cable provider and upgraded our internet service.
I has taken me several tries to get Windows 7 installed without any bugs, but I am sure that had more to do with user error, than anything wrong with the software or hardware.
So now both of our workstations are fully operational.... with a Windows index score of between 6.7 and 7.8 . (If you would like to know the Windows Index score of your computer, Left Click the Start Button - Right Click Computer - Left click Properties ... Up will come a window showing the score) By knowing what your computer's index score, allows one to make an educated decision about how to increase the computers performance.
In addition, we ran a speed check on our ISP and we are achieving download speeds greater than 30mbs and upload speeds greater than 7. ( If you would like to know the speed of your internet, simply go to www.speakeasy.net , click Speed Test, Choose the City closest to you and get your results.
Of course, if you want a fast internet connect, you ISP probably has 3 different packages available. We already has a Premium version and when we contacted our ISP, they had a some kind of bundle package which is only a few $ more...
So, we built 2 new computers, uploaded the OS, connected to the Home network, increased our internet speeds and we are back surfing the web... FASTER THAN EVER !!!! Gone are the days of... "The Computer isn't working again..." (we at least for today)...
Now that I have spent the past 2 FULL days building and installing software and updates on these 2 computers, I NEED SLEEP..... I will catch up with a few video's today and try to do some reading, but my eyes are bleeding from staring at the computer screens for so long... We were supposed to rest on Sunday to be prepared for the week, however the opportunity to upgrade the computers was just too tempting...
Overall, we are very happy, I will be happier after I get some sleep and my eyes stop stinging... but I must say, in just the time saved in writing this blog because the stupid computer did NOT lock up will add up quickly... (not to mention LESS FRUSTRATION !!! YEA !!!)
