Right Place, Right Time - Or Not?
One week before joining Wealthy Affiliate I ran into a long time friend and he asked me if I would be interested in being an Outside Sales Representative for him, I told him I would think about it and get back to him.
Meanwhile, I got started with Wealthy Affiliate on 7/26/17 and was pleasantly surprised at how fun and captivating I found the training's. All the material is presented in a methodical and learn-able fashion and, C'mon how can someone not love Kyle with his Genuine Nature and adorable Canadian accent?!! Lol....right?!! :D Anyway the community and support system is top-notch and has restored my faith in humanity. I truly love it, and have been inspired since day 1.
So I followed up with my buddy on 8/4/17 and told him I was in the process of building a website, and he said, oh cool, I didn't know you did that. Perfect, I'll pay you to update mine and then you can start doing sales too! I had just completed my first training course with WA the day before, and now I had an offer to get paid for revamping a friends outdated website. What?? Really?? To say the least I was beyond excited and went straight to chat to find out if I would be able to accomplish this through WA. So I put a proposal and a contract together and two days ago he signed it and gave me check. Half up front and half in 30 days. He knows I'm brand-new to building websites, but he also knows my work ethic and that I'm a person of my word.
So to me, this development was an amazing Blessing! I feel like this is a great opportunity to get paid as I learn, and in the end I'm the point of contact on the website for the sales we generate anyway. So it seems like a win, win situation to me! Would you agree?
I'm thick skinned... I would love to hear honest feedback and I'm brand-new to blogging too! Is it proper etiquette to insert LOL or no?

I would like to believe the community is our extended family so lol should be acceptable. As far as your success with your friend and the website that is very intuitive and exhibits good business skills. Just a reminder to be sure to get the affiliate on the your sites and start receiving even more money from the clicks.

I will definitely get some affiliate on his site and will also decide on a niche; so I can get some affiliates on my own site one of these days as well! I just read your profile and saw how many websites you have. That is awesome! (I resonate with the niches it sounds like you've chosen.) Thank you Mike and Randy! Today I spend 11 hours researching the right themes for what I know he wants & plugins as well. I was able to get clear on two great theme possibilities. Can you guys please be more specific about what exactly you would make sure I research other than themes & plugins? I also have already done a ton of key word research before I gave him the proposal. If you are learning and in doubt Shawna, when you get an offer like that secure it then allow enough lead time to research and train like crazy to deliver!!

Hi Shawna , being online can be like the wild west at times, just putting things out there can bring opportunities, as you have found out to your surprise. One of the best things we can do for our careers online is just going for it, call it on the job training, there are enough resources and information here at WA to help you fill in those gaps in your knowledge base get one done and dusted and you will be away on a fast bike. well done and all the best. definitely the right place and the right time for you.

The best part is, Abundance will always be possible for ALL of us, because there are 3.2 billion people online! Therefore, we all can give and share our ideas selflessly and be assured there will always be enough for all of us. :)
