The Forsaken Income Dilemma

OK, we all have to have some sort of income to sustain ourselves and our families. What does this usually mean? Well unless you have some impressive degrees in a field that lands you a job that is in the 6 figures and allows you to be your own boss, it means you are stuck. You are trading your time and your life actually for money thus becoming “The Forsaken Income Dilemma”.

It is a trap really, you get a job that pays you by the hour or salary but it is a fixed income. Oh you may get a bonus or raise from time to time but you are still stuck to a life style dictated by who owns you. And yes, I did say “owns you”, most employers own you in some way or the other. They lay down the rules on when you can be free to live your life. Unfortunately you have already traded a huge chunk of your life to your employer, so any free time mostly goes into getting the necessary things done you can’t do while at work. So to have a life or free time, you have to sacrifice getting the necessities done only for it to have to be caught up on later. “Catch 22”

You could hire others to do some of the necessities but if your income is just enough to get you by, that probably isn’t an option. You are always having to plan to have a little put back in case the car messes up, the water heater blows or a multitude of things that go wrong. If something does go wrong, you have to spend that cushion money and then you have your finger crossed that nothing else goes wrong during the “build my cash back up process”.

There are always part time jobs you can take on to make extra cash but most of us don’t have the time to take on anything else, plus you are again trading more of your time to try and get ahead financially. Don’t get me started on single full time parents with no family or help, working more hours isn’t even a possibility. What you need is financial freedom, a way to generate an income without trading the majority of your days to make it. Many people think this way and want to start their own business but that usually works even more against you.

Depending the type of business, starting one as well as managing it can consume more time with less pay when starting out. Many try to keep a full time job and start a business but then you have just killed your personal life and freedom all together. Granted, if your goal is freedom to live and have an income while living a little, you do have to sacrifice in the beginning but never forget, life is short and the times to laugh, live, have fun and spend time with loved ones goes by in an instant.

Having your own business, making an income without a boss or employer is the way to financial freedom, the trick is to figure out how to get started and survive at the same time. Starting an online business I think is the best avenue to take. It is something you can do from home, possibly work a part time job while getting it started and the time it can take to get some form of a home business to start making some money would take less time than a brick and mortar company in most cases.

Online businesses such as internet marketing still takes some work to get it going but I think for those looking to have freedom plus an income, this is the best method. Find a telecommute type job or part time job, then start looking for groups that can help such as Wealthy Affiliate to get you started. There is IBO Toolbox which is free, however the training isn’t specific to building a real website business online as Wealthy Affiliate is but still doesn’t hurt to connect to as many alike people as you can.

I just started a new job and now it has me limited on the time I can spend here on WA, as I am also not getting my training done so I am falling behind. This is the trap because as I work for someone, I am on a set income without ever really being able to expand to an income that I really want. The time a job has me committed to, is hindering me from making my online business successful and now is holding me back.

So in a situation like this, I think it is better to not get yourself tied to a job that sucks up all your time. Find something part time and focus on your real dream. Bills have to be paid but if you really want something, you will find a way to make it happen.

Yes, there is so little time to accomplish what you intend. It's how you use that little bit of time to reach that goal.
And having a job you don't like makes it harder. To keep me going I think of my family, and patience is the key. Even you only have a little time, use it to your business and little by little you can achieve it.
A fellow WA suggested to me to take one or two hours a day after I'm done with my job, family, and house chores. That has been the best advice for me, and now I pass it on.
Regards,
Millie

One person works 8 hrs per day for a paycheck the other works 16 hours for their dream. Which one truly is free?

Good thoughts

You've definitely hit the nail on the head and drove it straight through the cement concrete. There's so little time in life to do all the things we "want" to do, that we get so left behind because of the things we "have" or "need" to do first. Life is so fickle, why can't we all just be successful together? Thanks for the share and best wishes!

Cheers
