A Great Decision

I started messing around with building websites and affiliate marketing close to three years ago. I have 20 years of IT and Business Applications experience under my belt and part of my experience was building and developing SharePoint sites.

For those that are not familiar SharePoint, it is a Microsoft product that is basically a website builder. However it is mostly used for business’ internal networks but it can be made to be public. However SharePoint works with databases and securities that your normal sites don’t include but this did peak my interest in website development.

MY RESEARCH

Once I started looking into how and where to build sites at, I discovered the world of Affiliate Marketing. Now once I opened up that can of worms, man did I ever start finding so many scammers and such a long list of bad information out there that it made me question getting involved with marketing at all.

Through it all, I kept seeing Wealthy Affiliate’s name pop up from time to time and how they helped people just like me that wanted to learn how to make an income from home.I am pretty stubborn and always have to try things on my own for a while but sometimes it works for me.

Through all my research, I have learned a lot, I think the biggest issues was being able to put it all together in the right order and get some fine tuning on some things. I really needed to find other people I could talk with that either has tried this or was successful with it to help me, really to help me believe it can work more than anything.

MY REASON FOR AFFILIATE MARKETING

I am a single full time dad of a 13 year old girl and I swear life and freedom was far easier when she was younger. As she has gotten older, I find trying to work somewhere just isn’t working. I need to be home since I am mom and dad. The house seems to always need cleaning more, I am always taking her places, there are always school things that have our time sucked up and not sure how, but the end of the day comes up fast and it is time to do it all over again. So working from home will be my new life line.

I am currently looking for telecommuting jobs while I try and figure out how to make real money in affiliate marketing but my savings are dwindling down and I have made probably around 2K in the past three years with online marketing. Of course I just started with WA and I am feeling better and more positive about and have seen where I messed up at some things and where I need to be stronger in other areas.

Of course the big mystery still yet is how to get an ample amount of traffic without paying through the nose for it. SEO works, I have had some things find me that way but I have researched some big name marketers and that is where I want to be. I don’t need to be a millionaire, wouldn’t mind it but I would like to make a healthy passive income that allows me the freedom to take care of my daughter. It is just her and I with no help or family, so the stress is really on me.

IN CLOSING

I really feel joining Wealthy Affiliate was a great decision, I just hope I can get some money coming in soon to at least pay for my membership…LOL I feel pretty positive about this program, no hidden scams or up-sells and everyone is legitimately out to help the other guy. It truly is a community of great people wanting to succeed in this type of marketing. I just hope I can become as successful as many other are here.
