The first steps taken with any new business venture requires introspection - a look inside to determine meaning and purpose, mindset and trust to push through difficult time when internal conflict arises. Colleagues and friend offer support but the real struggle often isn’t about starting the business but begins with self-image. Really! Do I have what it takes? Am I good enough? What is my purpose for becoming a business owner, entrepreneur or even a consultant? Starting a major venture without developing these introspective steps often results in dormant or failed businesses.

There are a majority of small business failures because the first steps were not followed with detail - 66% according the SBA (Small Business Administration). Read statistics at the SBA Business Advocacy website - https://www.sba.gov/advocacy/small-business-facts-and-infogr.... Let’s face it! A lot of work goes into business development from the beginning including unanticipated, unforeseen and unpredictable results both negative and positive. On the positive side, business owners who are well connected and collaborate within their community, networks, organizations and peer groups can experience exponential growth in the first 5 years. Enter RDMD2 - First Steps In Small Business!

What is RDMD2? Reddfox Digital Marketing Design and Development - a digital marketing startup project focused on providing SEO, SEM, SMM, Email and Affiliate products and services to small business owners, community business development organizations and government entities. My first steps in a new business have been baby steps. So, I’m taking time to reflect and express my gratitude for all of the spiritual leaders, community / civic organizations, government agencies, social advocates and small business owners who have been transparent about the gaps in communication that allows digital marketing agencies to exist. This is where having a mission and “eagle vision” about a perspective in business or niche’ contributes to the overall development. Admittedly, this is not my first business but I embrace the challenges with passion.

The first newsletter went out in April, a follow-up to it here on Facebook and Mailchimp for “National Small Business Week” awareness, a radio station, a few political campaigns and the Purpose, Vision and Mentoring conference plus lots of other relationships with Microsoft, Amazon, Zoho and more affiliate opportunities that teach small business owners about digital marketing. Personally, I’m very inspired by only 5 months with RDMD2 and I hope to continue to share my digital journey with an engaged audience. If you did not receive a copy of the newsletter but wish to receive it, please visit the website, fill out the form at the bottom of the page. Each version of this newsletter will contain resource articles, links and information for collaborative partner for “small business owners, community business development organizations and government entities”.
