Houston, We Have a Microsoft Problem

Calling all Windows and Microsoft Users!

All of my computer programs are working 100% OK - My Gmail, social media, Canva, Pinterest, Facebook, and all that jazz. However, while I was doing my next post in a Word document, it started acting strange. I am not going to touch MS docs.

Now there is a pop-up that says Microsoft, but it isn't. Has this happened to anyone before? I plan to call Microsoft or get in touch with them, first thing in the morning.

Are there any suggestions in the meantime?

Peace & Love

Rachele

p.s. Tell me I have a computer glitch, without telling me I have a glitch (lol).

If I touch my Microsoft Docs, I LOSE. What is my best option?

Sorry Rachele, but I don't like HP anything. It always gives me problems. That being said when it comes to writing documents, I don't like the new (windows 10) Microsoft Word/whatever because it automatically saves my content to "The Cloud" which is the web as far as I know. I do not trust this. MW did not ask where I wanted to save it or even if I wanted to save it to the cloud. So I don't use it. I use Open Office Documents. It does give me the chance to say where I want to save my content and the whole Open Office pack is Free. You might check it out. My worst problem using it is that Microsoft (on my computer) is mad that I am using something other than what it offers.

I hope this helps. :)

Check your MWord settings to change that option. I use Word, and can save my files in non-cloud folders.

Ok. Thanks, Rudy.

JD,

I will save and bookmark this post. Sounds like a great plan. My main concern is security because I am always online, subscribing to this and that. That's why I get myself in a jam. I have learned my lesson well.

This helps a bunch

That is all I hope for Rachele. :D

Hi, Rachele

If there is a number for Microsoft on the popup do NOT call it. Go to Microsoft’s website and find the appropriate phone number.

This is probably obvious, but I just wanted to be clear.

I don’t recommend you use the free Windows firewall. Install one of the paid products, like Norton, etc.

When my McAfee security expires in a month or so, I plan to upgrade to a better security system.

I would rather pay more for the quality.
Thanks for the prescription doc.

Rachele
p.s. Did we lose another famous musician this week?
Seems like I hear something on the news, but not sure.

Hi, Rachele

McAfee security Is very good. You probably got a free trial with your computer.

I prefer Norton 360 because it doesn’t slow your computer down as much.

Yes, David Crosby recently passed away at 81 years old. Unfortunately, he had some significant medical problems.

I wrote a WA post about him yesterday.

I paid a $39 subscription and get Office, Microsoft 365, and other stuff. My security covers 9 devices. Does Norton cover all devices?

It even covers Max's iPad I think.
Did you see High on the Hog yet?
It is very educational.

2

Hi, Rachele

Our Norton plan comes with our LifeLock subscription and covers ten devices. McAfee is fine to stick with.

No, we haven’t seen that show yet but I plan to check it out. 😎

Frank 🎸

Awesome, Doc

LifeLock is pretty awesome.
I am transitioning to another security when McAfee expires. I will keep you posted.

It's a great show. There are people that I never heard of before that added to the foods that we cook today.

Rock on 🎸

Not able to use Google docs.

2

That sounds like a good idea, Rachele.

Let us know how it goes.
Have a wonderful day!

2

Why cant you use G docs?

Rudy

But yea this is why I say have a back up for your back ups. I don’t even want to open my Word dox since you post this.

1

Kida,

I can't believe this.

2

It more then likely a bug have you checked MS website for recent bugs or outages? That may have come from this new AI update?

1

What should I do now?

2

Do what you said. Go to Microsoft official website and email them about what’s going on.

1

Till then I wouldn’t touch word dox either. At least till I get some assurance and search online to see if others are having similar issues

2

When I go into settings,

2

My computer is back on the road again.

1

Could be from their recent update with that new AI.

1

I am quite sure it is. But it was so subtle.

2

Any updates that are given I normally wait until all bugs are worked out. Remember they still dealing with issues from the windows 11 updates. So this one you are reporting doesn’t surprise me.

1

Im about to inbox you

1

Then updates and Anti-virus is good.
