Learning, now Sharing4 Because I Care
Did you know that horses enjoy the sun, sunbathing, just as many of us do? Living across from neighbors with three beautiful horses, it was the first time I witnessed any one of them laid out on the grass just relaxing. I thought first that perhaps the horse was ill, so I quickly alerted my neighbor who assured me that all was well and that horses do, in fact, lie out in the sun sometimes. Needless to say, it was most comforting to realize that my caring of the horse and my neighbor was a great benefit to them and to me because through it, I learned something new!
Life’s lesson: Be observant. Be open-minded and caring. You, too, may learn something extraordinary that you will feel compelled to share, or that will cause you to feel special and/or filled with joy.
Quotes for Thought:
You have to be willing to learn new things every day, every second. You can’t depend on what you’ve already been taught. – Russell Simmons
People Change; Places Change; Your Environment Changes; even You Change, so adapting with increased knowledge will help to avoid or minimize frustration.
So Why Learn? From the book, 5 Principles for a Successful Life
The way to learn every day is to fall in love with learning, to enjoy the process of acquiring and understanding new information. Everyone has something valuable to teach you if you are willing to listen and learn.
Learning and growing is the only way that you can develop into the person that you have the potential to become. If those around you try to tell you that it is not important to learn, don’t listen to them. They mistakenly believe that they have learned everything and have nothing left to learn. They are wrong – there is always something to learn in some area of your life. You will have many opportunities for learning if you allow yourself to slow down and pay attention. Take the time to stop, listen, and learn.
These thoughts remind me of a statement made by Whoopi Goldberg to a group of students in the movie, Sister Act II that the students put to melody.
If you want to be somebody, if you want to go somewhere, then you better wake up and pay attention!

yes, learning is important,
but more important than just gathering new info is using that info to improve your life -- that is real learning
so, for you, how does knowing that horses like to sunbath improve your life, or is it simply interesting trivia?
all the best
Hello adaba063. Nice to meet you!
To answer your question, my life is improved because I love horses and especially since I live so close to them, I now know that they enjoy laying out in the sun, and it is also interesting trivia, by the way. I no longer have to wonder if they're ill. I can see positively that they are at a comfort stage, relaxing, which brings a broad smile to my face. Further, by my sharing, it may help to improve the life of someone else who may be just getting interested knowing more about horses.
Any further thoughts?
All the best to you as well; thank you! .
that is neat,
and an application for your readers could be that even horses, which tend to be work animals (tho not so much in the western world) -- they still enjoy rest from their labor,
so we need to take time too to relax in the warmth of the sun
all the best,
Now, I really like that you agree that we all do need to take rest time as well. The Creator made the world in 6 days and on the 7th, He rested from His labor and reflected and celebrated which is my practice also. I truly appreciate your conversation!
