Understanding What Helps Site Rankings
During the month of January, I took sort of a hiatus, to study deeper into perfecting my craft. I felt as if I should study, master, and then apply what I learned, instead of learning and applying at the same time. Doing this I feel as though I would avoid costly and rookie mistakes.
After reviewing multiple resources (including WA) I have come to conclusion that when you go to a search engine in type in a key phrase, the following is what the search engine uses to rank sites (and what we should focus on for our website.)
- A site's authority on the given subject: Search engine looks for links from similar sites to access the site's authority on the topic searched.
-The sites structure: Search engines looks at the main point of the website
- What pages on the sites are most dedicated to the subject
- Relevance of the pages to the subject
- The overall quality of each site: This refers to writing quality, site performance etc.
By understanding these concept and combining the techniques learned in WA about "low-hanging fruit", I was able to create a page and get it ranked on the first page of google within 24 hours after creation.
Hope this helps!
