My Business So Far

Hi everyone,

I would like to let you know a little bit about my experience here on Wealthy Affiliate so far.

I'll start by saying I'm really enjoying this community and being part of a group of individuals with very different interest, but trying to achieve a similar goal, which is to build a successful online business.

Up until now I've built a very nice website and have started adding quite a bit of great content, although I could always use more content that is useful to my audience. I've started to learn about places to share content which will hopefully lead more people to my site.

I have chosen to build a niche around learning to play guitar, but more specifically geared toward beginners. So my niche would be helping beginner guitar players learn the instrument and also have a place where their is interesting information about guitar, legendary guitar players and music industry news. This has been a lifelong passion of mine so I enjoy the time I spend trying to find content and adding useful info to my site.

Over the next few months I would like to to add some free video lessons and over the next six months or so I would like to create and sell a complete course for beginners to learn the basics of playing guitar and then beyond that to the intermediate level. On top of that I am an affiliate for a very well established online guitar training company and an online music marketing company. I promote both of these on my site. I am also an Amazon Associate which allows me to have a shopping page on my site where visitors can make guitar related purchases.

As much as I've enjoyed this so far I've really struggled to get any meaningful amount of traffic to my site and this part is getting a little frustrating. I've tried free traffic, paid traffic, I held a free giveaway contest that led to nothing, and I have only grown my email list to three subscribers.

I will keep on plugging away at this as I am very determined to make this work, but I have a full time job and only being able to spend a couple hours a night building this business makes it seem like it could literally take years to get anywhere. Many people will not stick it out for years before making any real money and I think that is the biggest struggle of trying to build an online business.

I am searching for a way to accelerate this process and am hoping the remaining training on this site will do just that. So far it has been excellent but it has not led to any real traffic, which is the main thing I want to change.

I am looking forward to the rest of the journey but I hope the journey yields some tangible results soon.
