Our Calling in Life

All through our lives we live our days in sometimes very hectic pace...so fast that we do not even have a moment nor the opportunity to ponder our situation - what direction we're going or how fast we're going...or even caring in what direction we're heading. Our main concern seems to be our salary ---enough to feed our family and give an answer to other needs - like education, health or even luxuries.

There's more to it than that..

At this time - Christmastime and New Year - we find ourselves thinking and reviewing what we have done during the past year and maybe even going further - what we have been doing all these years of our lives...where we have succeeded, and where we have not...I do not say failed because in everything that we put our effort into, there's really no such thing as failure. But let us think for a moment of the most relevant thing or event that is most important and most meaningful to each and every one of us...

When I was still younger, I decided that the study of Medicine was not for me...too limiting, I thought...not enough freedon of choice, I thought...and I will not be a doctor just because my father and a lot of my relatives are medical practicioners, I thought...

And yet- through the years I found myself being drawn into the realm of Complementary Medicine- Chinese accupuncture, herbs, and massage (Tuina), Shiatsu, and the more energetic types of healing. Not because the pay is good - it is...but since we were the trailblazers in the field, we innovated new techniques, old-new types of treatments, new approaches to age old maladies and problems.

We also brought about the acceptance of the concept that ours is not alternative medicine - rather - complementary medicine. That is - not to change the formal form of medicine but rather, to work with regular form of medicine. For us, to be able to add our imprint to make a person well again without the use of drugs and medicine means that we could connect to energies that are good enough and powerful enough to be able to heal.

This is the reason why I'm so centered and passionate about my back pain relief techniques and exercises. It has been my lifelong work, my vocation in life.

And this is the main reason I'm so passionate to share it with others - especially here within our WA family.

What you are doing is a blessing and I like that the term is now "complimentary" for that is what it truly is. I hope to see or hear about your treatment plan. My 3 boys and I are in great need. All 4 of us have pain from arthritis, stenosis, spondylosis, Spondylolisthesis, and fibromyalgia. I hope to learn more. :)

Eileen - to help you and your boys - I rub warm olive oil (with other etheric oils like eucalyptus, lavender and sage- a couple of drops per 100ml) around the painful areas (gently) and keep massaging with the use of a warm towel or something smoother - doing that with other motions of the joints will allow the inflammation to flow and ease a lot of the pain. Remember- be very, very gentle about the whole procedure...Good luck!!!...Raul

Raul, so beautifully written and shared. Thank-you! and Happy New Year 2015.

Thanks, Dan!!!Happy New Year!!!...Raul
