AGC - My Keys to Success

I feel like I'm destined for something a big. I have walked around with this picture of myself someday rising up to my destiny! Facing it head on! For a few years, I believed I was going to be the next big Rockstar. I told everyone, that someday they would see me on the big stage. Events would it, that I was lead from that path. So I turned my head elsewhere.

For a few years now, I have tried to come up with an idea. You know, the grand, original idea, that will take the world by storm and make money and fame rain on me, like waterdrops in a thunderstorm. But to no avail.

A few times, I really thought I had it! But often times, life got in the way and other things demanded my attention. After some time away from a project, it was hard to get back into the drill, with the same motivation that kicked it off. So they all faded into nothing, and life went on.

I like to learn from my mistakes, and often write a diary before I go to sleep. In these diary entries, I always end them with 3 things I'm grateful or that I did well that day, and 3 things that I learned that day. It could be anything! It could be, that I learned how to make banana icecream, how to get to the nearest grocery store quicker, or that I don't work well under pressure. One thing is for sure, though. I learn a lot about myself doing it. And I have learned a few things from my own life about why some things worked out, and others didn't.

Some of the things I've learned, is that ambition without action, is like having the recipe and groceries, without actually cooking the food. You'll be left hungry, and the groceries will spoil.
I've learned, that having a helping hand on the first part of the road is also important. It helps you to stay motivated during the first, hard struggle until you learn how to stand on your own two feet. Having someone to encourage and guide you, preferably someone that has been at your level already, will make you stay motivated.
And last, but certainly not least - Consistency is key! You get started on your journey, and you are helped along the first part, but if you don't keep on keepin' on, you won't get anywhere, and you'll quickly lose ground.

Action, Guidance, Consistency!

I went through this journey a couple of times already, in my 22 years of living. First, when I started playing guitar at the age of 15. I started playing, but gave up after a few weeks. For the next 6 months, that guitar was STARING at me, and I looked at it every day, and always the same thought struck me - "Naah, that's not for me". Until one day, I did pick it up again. This time around, it was super fun! My dad would come into my room almost every day and hear what I had learned that day, and always encouraged me on (even though it probably sounded terrible back then, haha).
After learning more and more, and finding other goals, I was set on the road and didn't need that encouragement anymore (though it was always welcome!).
Being consistent with my guitar, made me surpass everyone I knew, within a relatively short time.

I went through the same journey when I started working out, and after a few years, that consistency and constant striving made my body more muscular and strong, than most of my friends and gympartners.

I'm looking forward to learning a lot here, meeting a lot of cool new people, and see where this takes me. At the end of the day, the worst thing that can happen, is that I learn something new.

Greetings, and all the best from Denmark

Rasmus
