A Good Deal

Well Dang! I just bought 2 composition books today for my notes. Two books, because it was buy one, get one free for a $1.69, That's a good deal, right? Another reason I bought a composition book for notes is because I've been using recycled printer paper, putting my notes on the backside.... free paper! BUT, my Amazon Parrot found out it's really funny to fly over Daddy's desk and blow papers on the floor, then watch my face turn red. Well, the comp book is heavier, and Parrot Helicopter proof.

Old fashion?

Is it old fashion to take notes? No, it's not , and the reason I take notes, is because I like to review them later when I'm relaxing, without a computer, Pad or Pod. For me, It almost puts me right back in the lecture hall listening to the speaker, or watching the video again. I like to go to my Florida Room where I have a great view of tropical plants, and trees to do my study work. It's very important to have a quiet and peaceful place to study, where there are limited interruptions and distraction. I find my self staring out the window at the Banana trees when the breeze blows the 7 foot long leaves back and forth. I'm not going to call that a distraction... because I'm still thinking!!

Review Review REVIEW

While in College we had a Course called, Becoming a Master Student. We learned many facts about how the brain works. One important thing we learned is; studies show that reviewing new educational information within 24 hours, helps insure the information can be retrieved from memory, and if it's not reviewed within 24 hours and can be lost! It's the first step toward building the path for retrieval from the brain. This is a proven learning tool for reinforcing memory. You don't have to review hand written notes like i do, that's just my way of getting away from the computer.... you can review the video, or listen to the lecture, re-read the lesson, as long as you review it.

I hope this helps a little...

Thanks for reading..

Randy

i do the same thing with my note books too im on level 2 of the courses and already have 15 pages of notes..... each nightwhen i go lay down i read over my notes, i am one of those very organized individuals ( clean notes with page numbers and colorful high lighters all over the notebook) i usually use white blank paper so i can draw arrows and boxes around certain things.... but i cannot remember everything i read so thats where the notebook clean and organized with color comes in handy for me it even makes it easier to skim.

That's awesome 707 !...There are many people that don't do it that way. I just find it a great way to relax and review.... ponder a little bit and brainstorm during the review.

Another thing I found is, when composing a new writing I am much faster to start on paper to build the outline, first, and second drafts, then try to finalize it before I start working on the word processor.

I'm still in level 2 also, I should have been in level 3 or 4 by now but I've been doing a lot of research into Web operations. I bought 2 domains from Hostgator, and have to change the "Name Server" to WA. I may park the one domain for a while, I really liked the name so I bought it.

This is an information snowball. The more I learn about building the site the more questions I have.

Thanks for the follow, get back with me later and let me know how you are doing!

We each develop our own ways to stay focused as well as to allow for some free thinking when we need to be creative. I use a To DO list... little ones that you hang on the frig to create your grocery list. I ONLY use it for my daily goals and check list of what needs to be done.

Everything else goes into a Word document. I have lots of them in order to keep my notes organized. I have folders for my Website Development, and within it I have one for each website that I am creating. I have managed to keep organized on ontrack this way.

I think that a notebook is great for brainstorming. It creates more ideas than can be used, so I transfer those to a document.

My home office has way too much paper in it. I am not really very organized when it comes to paper, so have avoided it for my online work like the plague.

Am going to look into Wunderlist as suggested below, because I am often away from home when doing jewelry shows and use my iPhone . Right now I use Evernote, and have it on my pc as well. Not sure if they would be similar.

Hey Randy. If you want to thwart the parrot consider Wunderlist http://www.wunderlist.com which lets you create and edit notes and lists. You can access them on multiple platforms, ie. online, computers, tablets and phones, hopefully poopie free and you're saving trees. :) Rich.

Thank you Rich!!!! great Idea to save trees.... but I would still have an umbilical to an electronic component. They are wonderful tools, I love technology but there is a limit to how much I can stand, I have to get away from it. I will check it out tho Rich, I can always you another tool in the arsenal!!!!. But not for my notes, because my notes turn in to my concepts

I like to take my handnotes to the sun room and watch the birds play in the Palm and Banana trees in my back yard... I read a little bit watch a little bit, write more notes and think AND fall asleep.. When we go someplace, I let someone drive so I can sit in the back and read my notes. I don't have to worry about signals, batteries, earphones, power cords. Besides have you ever tried typing notes and emails on one of those tiny little Ipads? LOL
Thanks Rich
