About Randene

Just a sojourner looking for a way out of the daily grind and a new community of people to journey with....

I work as a Spiritual Health Practitioner in Hospice and Palliative Care. It is a rich environment, but while I spend much time each day seeking to assist people in experiencing some sense of internal buoyancy (based on their values), I find that I have little time to relegate to things that would bring buoyancy to my own being. So I begin the search online, a search meant to lead me to vast physical landscapes, usher my three daughters back into the reality of a stay-at-home mom, and a future where I'm not just gulping back breaths of air, but rather breathing deeply each moment of my days.

Please connect with me. I'm eager to establish a new community, an online community, a community ever-so-pleasant for the high introvert that I am! :)

And check out my website if you get a chance: internalbuoyancy.org. :)

I loved your recently published article on your website, Randene, having to do with the words "should have, as really people tethered to the message behind those words often do not get the most out of their lives. A truly inspirational article that so many people walking around today NEED to read.

Best of luck to you in your online business here at WA!

Hi Randene. Do you know why I get a "404 Error" when I try to take the quizzes on your site? This type of thing happens on my site as well depending on the provider I'm using. For example, I was recently told that the "About Us" link is not working. Just thought you would like to know.

Good morning Randene! Thanks for the follow. After reading every page, I just forwarded your web address to my wife. I sure that she would enjoy it too. We spend our days lifting people up and instructing them on mindfulness and how to "live" their lives.

While reading your thoughts (words), I thought of something that I find myself saying quite often these days, "The thing that we want most for others is the thing that we need most ourselves."

There is so much more that I was thinking while visiting your site that I would have to create my own website to express it! LOL We'll talk more about it as time goes by.

Just one thought for now though. You help those who who are dying . . . and help their families to accept it. Well . . . I'm 52, and I've lost many friends and family over the years, but it has never affected me the way it does others. I don't even go to funerals anymore. You see, in my mind, we are all dying. You hear people say it all the time. "I'm dying to get out of here." or "I'm dying for the weekend." or "I'm dying for a drink." People don't even realize that what they think becomes their reality, and so we are all dying for one thing or another. In the end, no one gets out alive.

As a young boy, I discovered this conundrum and decided to live. I'm living for that next thrill, drink . . . weekend. In fact, I'm living for now and the most exciting thing I can find is someone else who is "living for now". It appears that may be you?

BTW - you aren't an introvert, I think that maybe you're just surrounded by people that you would rather not associate with?

One last comment. Most of what I have learned about humanity I learned from the comics section of the news paper. In fact, that is the only section I read.

Write back when you get the chance. In the meantime, I'll see you in the funny papers.

Hi! I am sorry that I didn't get back to you earlier. I couldn't find your note in my inbox. Thank you so much for perusing the entirety of my site and offering feedback and your thoughts. I really appreciate it! Thank you also for sharing it with your wife. You mentioned that you and your wife train on Mindfulness. In what setting do you do that? I am really interested!

We don't have a "special" setting right now, although we are looking at property to build a place to have meditations. At the moment, my wife is incorporating mindfulness into her classes at the university. Her students thought it was weird at first, but now are really getting into it and finding it immensely beneficial. I also incorporate mindfulness into my classes for teens to use during study and test times. Beyond that, we simply live it and share our story with whomever asks. It's funny that many people get a kick out of seeing my wife and I hold hands while we walk in public places. We are in our 50's, but we still feel like teenagers and sometimes act like it. That is, we sometimes have "public displays of affection" which is something that I used to get in trouble for in high school! LOL

The bottom line is to be mindful wherever you are with whomever you are with. Stay in the moment. THIS moment. It's the only one that counts.

. . . . and that is enough preaching for today! LOL

You know . . . we need emoji's here.

Peace, William

Good evening Randene,

Not so introvert after all as you stepped out and followed me.
I always say this to the new people I meet here. Have a look at my WA post on the Spanish priest and the world library. There you can find amazing documents which could be a big help when writing for your website.
My website on health might give you some useful tips.
Thank you for the follow and all the best.

Regards, Taetske

p.s. do not forget to put your website below your network here on your profile page

Welcome to WA - lots to learn here- stay focused - go through the Certification Courses first - you will get confused or frustrated from time to time - ask lots of questions - people are here to help you.

HERE ARE 3 WA'ers Training Posts - they helped me - one is vocabulary you use here - one is a detailed use of your dashboard to find anything you will need - one is a plug-in to add to WordPress - that will help you build your sties. Hope they help - they did me This one I wrote - deals with how to "close" for the result you want. Stay with it - you don't need a wish of good luck - you need a plea to study the material and stay at it no matter what - it will change your life and hopefully the people you touch with your message.

Dave

have you encountered hemp oil or cannabis oil in your treatments for hospice patients ... there is interesting studies that show amazing results At the moment... Ohio State is doing a extensive study and testing for various ailments. i would think is would be an interesting study for you to offer it to your patients as it is non side affect and may help with pain or even appetite. I would be interested to hear if you have encountered it.

Hi Dave,
Thank you for the warm welcome and helpful hints!
Cannabis oil is absolutely recommended to many of our patients from some of the palliative docs. What we see especially it's helpfulness with nausea and also mood enhancement. I've read some research as it relates to its impact on cancer patients but here in Canada we're still working on some important questions as it relates to actual dosing. We've got much to learn!

I grew up living on a sailboat(s) and our 2nd boats name was sojourner. I was doing my first trans-Atlantic crossing and this one day the water was like glass and not a breath of air. I ended up reading the dictionary (I know but when your stuck on 37'x13' for 17 days, you do what you can to fight boredom) When I saw the word sojourner, I love it and convinced my parents to name the new boat that. It's a word you don't hear often that's why I told you the story lol. Have a great weekend.

Thank you, Kyle. I'm just rethinking my content and changed my niche, but I think it will be more authentic to me and, on the advice of one of WA, a better long-term fit (for long-term success). BTW, I'm so impressed with the community here and what you and Carson have put together.

I hope things are going well. I know you are getting rolling within the training and there is ONE thing that always tends to confuse people and that is "what is my niche?".

I know, same thing happened to me when I started.

I just wanted to reach out and let you know that I am here if you ever want to run any niche "ideas" by me or you have any questions about finding your niche.

Get back to me when you get the chance! :)
