First of all I would like to wish all mothers around the world a very, very Happy Mothers Day.

You are all so important and deserve to hear it more than just a couple of times. The reason for the title of this post is that we are now living during another time of change. Our society keeps changing, but sometimes it seems to go in cycles.

For example, there was a time when a large majority of people lived and worked at home working their land. There was an opportunity during the wild west where people could travel west and claim their own piece of the American Dream and succeed, as long as they were willing to take the risk of traveling there.

Then there was the gold rush days, where many people were, not only making money finding gold, but making money selling products to the people who were looking for the gold. During these times, mothers typically stayed home to take care of the family and worked from home.

Then things changed.

Major Changed Occured After WWII

After World War Two, there was a trend of higher incomes for men that allowed families to live comfortably off of one income. The stereotypical roles of Moms and Dads seemed to indicate that mom stayed home while dad went to work early in the morning to return late and then play a fatherly role when he got home.

During the 1960's things changed again, and it became more and more clear that two incomes were needed to run a household, so women entered the workforce at a higher rate than ever. Much controversy stems around this issue with non-equal pay between men and women, plus and overall predgudice of some folks that working women were less than perfect.

Anyways, once again, change in our society dictates how incomes are generated.

We Are Seeing New Change Again

I heard today that Payless Shoe's has filed bankruptcy. Also, the retail chain known as the gap has closed a little less than a hundred stores. We heard earlier on about Toys R Us closing its doors and many other retailers are calling it quits as well.

This is happening more and more to larger retailers such as Sears, who has had financial trouble for quite some time now. As more and more people find it easier to purchase products online and also feeling more comfortable pulling out their credit card to make an online purchase, more opportunities are beginning to pop up again. Just like in the wild west days.

Affiliate marketing has really given our society an even playing field where anyone can create a website and sell products and services without a large investment. We can now purchase a domain name for less than a pizza and have website assetts for less that eating out once a month.

This is crazy. Mothers can now work from home again and gain an expertise in a variety of arenas. We are certainly not limited in this area. Any niche you want to pursue is available for the taking. Passive income is certainly the way to go.

How to Create a Passive Income Online

Before we can really dive into this, we need to define what we mean by passibe income. Passive income does not mean, we don't have to work. I am not talking about the type of passive income that requires money to invest and then watch profits grow. I am certainly not talking about the Crypto currency craze or any other craze for that matter. I am talking about affiliate marketing.

Passive income as it relates to affiliate marketing means making sales on autopilot after putting in a lot of effort beforehand. When you have a fully functional website with a lot of content and you are an authority on a particular niche, you can expect to see passive income as the fruit of your labor. Sales should come in regularly when it is done correctly in accordance with the training here at Wealthy Afffiliate.

Passive Income Does Not Come From Your Typical Email Funnel Methods Being Taught All Over The Internet!

The online community has been inundated with program after program teaching you how to create these elaborate funnels to generate income and call it passive income. Folks, this is NOT passive income. The reason it is not passive income is because you have to constantly through money at it by purchasing solo ads or other paid adds in order to generate sales. That is not passive.

Even if you use the free advertising methods they teach, you still have to send out ads to mailers or traffic exchanges or facebook groups or whatever else they have you do. Or, purchase facebook adds. These are NOT passive income methods.

But, if you have content that is properly SEO'd and ranking in the search engines and you follow white hat techniques taught here at WA, you will have an abundant of passive income and residual traffic. There is nothing better than residual traffic my friends.
