Wealthy Affiliate Day 27 Milestone
5
In less than 30 days what did I actually learn and do? In alphabetical order:
Ad Programs -Joined and implemented Google Adsense, Infolinks, and Chitika
Affiliate Programs- Joined and integrated offerings from Amazon, Commission Junction, Clickbank, ShareASale, NameCheap, and Linkshare.
Article Submission Sites - Submitted articles that were published on HubPages and Street Articles. Author Rank in Street Articles started in the thousands, but is now 213. I have the most published articles in my niche.
Backup Wordpress - I learned two methods to backup my Wordpress sites.
Content Writing Schedule- Adopted a weekly schedule to publish original content and promote it through social networks.
Copyscape - Subscribed to service to guarantee that my original content is completely original. I also know who is stealing and posting my content without my consent.
E-mail List Collection - I learned about this marketing technique but have not implemented it yet.
Financial Goals - Set 30 day, 6 month, and 1 year goals. The 30 day goal was not met.
Google Alerts- Set up Google Alerts to gather topic ideas for my niches.
Google Analytics - Instrumented web site with Google Analytics that are also linked to Adsense and Webmaster tools.
Google Authorship- I learned two methods to implement Google Authorship and tested the results with the richsnippet tool.
Icons - Learned about two sites icons I can use in my web stie.
Instant Article Wizard - Purchased and used this product to facilitate research and writing. It can publish directly to my WordPress site. It performs a Copyscape check with a single mouse-click.
Keyword Search tools - Learned several sites and methods to identify key words important to my niche and SEO.
Niches- Identified 6 viable niches based on my passions, interests, and hobbies.
Non Financial Goals- Established 10 day, 30 day, and 6 month goals. I met the 10 day goal.
On Screen Video Recorder - Learned about a screen recorder that can be useful for training and presentations.
Product Development - I learned about product development but have not created my own product ... yet.
Publisher Accounts - Learned about, registered, and implemented Adsense, Infolinks, and Chitika.
rvfulltime.us - My new web property. Found low cost registrar, NameCheap. Changed DNS start of authority to Wealthy Affiliate.
Question and Answer Sites - Learned how these sites can provide article ideas based on what searchers want to know.
Search Engine Optimization - Learned some techniques to set up SEO, but also learned that the rules constantly change.
Social Bookmarks - Registered, learned, and used Digg, StubleUpon, Reddit, Delicious, and Diigo.
Social Networks - This was a large task for me. I have purposely avoided all the social networks for a long list of reasons. Every web marketing resource I read says that social networking is important, so I have had to expend considerable effort to ramp up on Facebook, Google+, Twitter, and Pinterest. The results of my efforts so far: 1 Facebook Like. No, my mother is not on Facebook.
URL Shorteners - Learned about the goo.gl shortner. I also like bit.ly.
WordPress - Learned how to implement, administer, extend, and backup a WordPress site. I implemented 12 plugins. I supplemented my WordPress education with resources from Amazon.
These are the highlights. There is more to the list, but by now you are either bored or reading another post.
My next blog post will happen if all my efforts generate the first cent of income.
