Which Opt-in Form?
Introduction
This short article and title has been prompted by my search to provide my website with an opt-in box of some description. I can hear the more experienced among you saying that is not a problem, while the newcomers will be asking either what is an opt-in form or box, or if they have been here a little longer, their answer will be simple, a form on the front of your article or web page. A similar answer will also suffice.
Anybody who has been following my blogs over the last few weeks will be aware that I keep mentioning opt-in forms and list building.
Why An Opt-in Form or Box?
The last sentence sums it up perfectly, you provide an opt-in form so that people can subscribe to your list, thus giving you their e-mail details. You can then send them offers. Do not intend here to go into the why's and wherefores, just wish to talk about the type of opt-in that you can use.
More than one, there certainly is, must be totally honest here, until I started to research them, thought that it was just a bulk standard form, with space for the name and email, either on the page or in the side bar. How wrong could I be? The other answer is that we are always taught to research, this has proved to be a very valuable lesson in this case.
A Few More Than One
Without going on for too long, among those that I have found are:
The Simple Box or Form:
Also called a simple contact form, which I think that most of you will be familiar with.
The Floating Form:
- This floats in and out whilst the visitor is reading the page.
- It can also float in at the beginning or the end of the form.
- This can also just appear depending on how it is set up.
- There are other variations on this as well.
The variation that I really like is when you get the form to appear right at the very end before the viewer goes away.
Auto Squeeze Box:
Have given this download its proper title, only came across it a couple of days ago, which prompted me to definitely write this article, as I was not quite sure before whether I should or not.
Briefly it is a floating e-mail opt-in box that follows the viewer as they scroll up and down the page, it then self-destructs after a period of time. The timer is set at 90 seconds, but can be altered to suit your requirements, the idea is that it gives a sense of urgency to the viewer to fill the form out.
The Video Form
When the viewer watches a video of, say, your product, an opt-in box is visible at the side for them to fill in.
Must confess that this is one that I will use on at least one of my efforts at list building.
Conclusion
These are the forms that I have found during my research, no doubt there are many more, which people will be aware of. Have gone no further as the ones that I have found will suit my needs to help me to build my list.
Hope that you have found this to be of some use, and a change from my usual blog.
As always stay safe.

God Bless

I have found it much easier to get them to leave their name and email address if you offer them something. A relevant article with useful information (FREE Report)
Example: If you are selling CBD Oil. "The 5 Best Rated CBD Companies In The USA" as a FREE report in exchange for their name email address. I find if I ask for more information that that the optins drop significantly. The location of the box is a matter of preference.

Thank you for sharing this Stuart 😊 I have finally got my sidebar opt-in form done, and installed it yesterday. I've also designed a pop up version, but will be split testing the sidebar opt-in first. Also, created the first weekly newsletter, so feeling quite pleased with myself 😊 Kathy
Wow, Kathy are you moving or what, might be after some advise, but well done.
