Introduction

Good Evening to all you lovely people at the Great WA Family, as always do so hope that you are all keeping both safe and well, may I thank you all so very much for your love, prayers and support for both Yvonne and Myself at this very testing time in our lives, you cannot believe how much they mean to me.

The title says it all I just sit in my chair when I have a minute and drop off, missed dvd's, films and all sorts of things, waking up halfway through you lose the plot totally.

The Last Few Days

Yvonne has both good and bad days, today was really strange as she did not wake until 1900, having had no food or drink. She did allow the carers to clean, wash, change the sheets and her nightie, for once without a murmur. In fact my Son, Daughter, Daughter-in-law and youngest Grandson sat with her for ages. Yvonne not waking until after they had left.

We were very concerned as one of her tumours appeared to have burst making a right mess on the safety sheet that we placed by her face. I did manage to clean it up, and we have seen no signs of seepage since. When the carers came I asked their advice and ended up phoning the District Nurse who was great, giving me total advice on the signs to look for. We have the comfort package here when they need to use it.

As it happens my daughter watched her father-in-law pass away at their house, so has been able to give me some guidance as well.

Just had the local hospice phone to check that Yvonne was OK, they do a night watch service. Was pleased to know that they do a day sitting service as well so have booked them in on Wednesday from 10 until 1, this will enable me to do things that I need to in Town.

Gillian, my daughter sat for me this week.

Pleased to say that since she woke up, she has had a bowl of porridge, several hot drinks and all three doses of a fortified drink. Not forgetting filling the hot water bottle up!

Thanks for letting me get this out of my system it is appreciated.

Have had a couple of phone calls from members of the Legion, one from the branch Chairman and the other from the Treasurer who I have known for years. They were both very much appreciated, in fact the support that I have been getting has been totally amazing.

Did have a weepy moment this afternoon when my daughter gave us a Christmas, saying something like I was determined that you were both having it, very emotional as you can imagine, but at least I know that she is accepting what is happening.

One thing that I will pass on in case you are all not aware, Yvonne had trouble drinking, not only from a cup but also through a straw. A carer suggested reducing the length of the straw, which I have done so that is barely and inch over the cup, and it works.

Despite playing at Nurse I have been able to give some thought to the business, for a while I have been buying products, which I feel will be of use on my websites when I am able to get going again, these are not silver dollar purchases, but well researched products that I will be able to use.

The idea being that I will be able to get going the minute that I can.

The Next Few Days

Think that it will be pretty much the same as this week, just hope that I can sleep at night, last night the wind was so strong it sounded through the intercom. it sounded like Yvonne was turning in her bed, but of course she was snug as a bug.

I am doing my best with my food intake and drinks, as I am aware that I am no good to Yvonne if I neglect myself.

On that cheerful note,

Be Happy, Healthy and Wealthy.

Please do stay safe,

God Bless,

Stuart

Dear Stuart,
I have been through this with my Mum, Dad and brother. You have my thoughts and best wishes for Yvonne and also you.

You are right you need to be as strong as you can for her. You seem to be doing all the right things.

Once again, my thoughts are with you and I wish you strength through this trying time.

Richard

Hi Stuart,

I feel for you every inch of the way, it takes a special person to live what you are with such a good attitude, I for one have absolutely no problem that you share such deep emotions, you have to let it out to cope.

I have lost 4 very close friends this last 12 months, and although not the same as a partner, it still takes its toll.

Just like Nick and the others say, make time to take care of yourself, Stuart, its more important than ever now.

Take strength from us all.

Kindly Rob

Hi Rob,

So very thanks for your kind comments. I am intend taking strength from you all and it helps.

Hi Stuart. This was hard to read knowing how life can be negatively challenging. No one wants them but we learn a much deeper meaning of life. Strong hearts and strong love for ourselves and all those around us can make healing a much easier process.

I am sending out positive prayers for you and your family.
Take care of yourself!

Rick⍢

Some very positive thoughts, many thanks Rick.

Hi Stuart!

I have dealt with aging parents and nursing home patients as I ministered to them on Sundays, and your descriptions bring tears to my eyes!

Please know that you are being prayed for. It's a season of life and best wishes in this time!

Enjoy your precious time together!

Howard, thanks for this, I intend to.

Stuart
