So Relaxing
Introduction
Good Morning to all you lovely people at the Great WA Family as always do so hope that you are all keeping both safe and well.
First of all apologies for not being able to download the photograph of my Lamb dish, still got to play with the image maker.
The title really says it all, the last few days have been just that so relaxing, in fact totally relaxing is not too wide of the mark.
This does indicate that I have not done a great deal, which in fact is not strictly true, as what I have done, has not only been enjoyable, but totally stress free, it could of course just be that I am slowly getting to grips with being on my own, have had the odd teary moment, especially on Christmas Day, but all in all things have been pretty good.
The Last Few Days
These could be in just any order as I think about them:
My son and daughter-in-law came round on Christmas Eve, with presents, I met them later that night in the pub for a drink, which was lovely.
My Youngest Grandson came round also, he is a lovely young man, we get on really well, not heard from my Eldest Grandson, he is probably busy with his partner, as I know her cat is very old and poorly.
Christmas Day, I went to the Pub as the Land Lord did not want to think that I was on my own, but it was my choice, I only went for one, but I really enjoyed it, as there were people in, whom I had not seen for years, including the daughter of friends whom I had not seen since she went to University, and now has been teaching for three years since she graduated!!
I have found time to walk round the garden and empty all the drip trays, which were fairly full with all the rain that we have had, also try to decide what to do when I get chance to work on the mess that I call a garden.
Not sure if I mentioned it, but bought a portable easel and case, full of painting materials, a few weeks ago, in the New Year, well the summer, I intend to spend sometime painting when I can sit and relax on the new terrace, that is when it is finished!!
I have been able to spend sometime on the Cooking website, the introduction is finished, let me rephrase that, I tend to add something every time that I re-read it. I have now got sufficient photographs of recipes of my own to last for just over year at one a month, just need to add the method and ingredients, thou some are done. This gives me a quarter of my content for the year when they are completed. This means that I can start to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
I know that you will not agree, but I have also started to do some content on one of my other sites, this is purely reposing material that I already have, I find that I do not get bored if I have something else to turn too.
The Next Few Days
Once we enter the New Year I think that the first priority on the Cooking Website will be to complete my recipes, fortunately they are all written down in a folder, so they just require copying. Then sorting out material for the other three weeks of each month, completeing the website, then getting it loaded up. Whilst it would be nice to have a years worth of everything done, then just fed it in, feel that might be too much to ask, not only do I get impatient, but also bored with repitition!!
This is one reason that I work on content for other sites, it refreshes my brain.
I also have a lot of sorting out and clearing out to do in the house, would like to get the spare bedroom, which should be a guest bedroom back into shape. Also my old office, the third bedroom, needs a good sorting out,
Weather permitting would like to make a start on the garden by getting rid of some of the rubbish, especially as it is compost bin week and due to the weather not much has been done.
Conclusion
Reading what I am proposing do should keep me fairly well occupied as we enter the New Year. But in the real world it is nice too be busy.
Having just re-read what I have done this week, it is surprising just how busy I have been, before I close for this year, Lunch today is Boosy Brussels Pate, followed by a ready nade Beef Dinner, I will finish with Chesse and Biscuits, had enough rich deserts this week.
It just reamins for me to wish you and yours a...
A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR
Be Happy, Healthy and Wealthy
Please do stay safe
God Bless

Hello Stuart.
It's great that you had a very relaxing time over the Christmas period but still got things done on your websites. I had an enjoyable time but didn't get anything done on my websites. I was rather busy with family, cooking, playing games, dog walking in the cold fresh air.
And I totally agree with you about having had plenty of rich desserts - I am totally 'sweeted out'.
Wishing you all the best for the New Year too.
God Bless
Isabella

Well VH,
Here I am late again. I think I get kicked out when I don't read everyone's posts. However, I've been very busy.
It took me a while to get the house sorted out and cleaned. I got rid of a LOT of stuff and was able to get into corners that I haven't been into to clean for a while so that was good especially since I'm allergic to dust.
I got called to work one of the services at the church but it was nice. I'm not used to being home for church services. Then I spent an entire day baking different kinds of cookies, brownies and popcorn balls. The next day I spent the entire day cooking dinner for the kids. They got in later than planned due to traffic. It was worth the wait though. It was great having my kids around me. They came on Fri and left on Sun. I spent a LOT of time in the kitchen and made WAY too much food. Me in the kitchen......that's something!!!! Of course, I crashed after they left! LOL
It sounds like you had a nice Christmas even under the circumstances. The firsts are always hard but you'll get through it. It's good that you are active and have things that keep your mind occupied. That helps a LOT!
WOW. A new year and a new chance to reboot ourselves. I like to start the year with reflecting on the old and dreaming about the new. I MUST be more disciplined this year. My body, mind and finances all require it. My walking club will do a walk on Jan 1 to get the year started on the right foot so to speak. LOL
SO, you have a VERY Happy New Year. Here's to much health, wealth and success.
Always
Your VW
Hi VW,
You are only a day late, I normally hear from you on a Tuesday, given how busy that you have been did not expect to hear from you for another day or so.
So pleased that you had a great time with the kids, despite all the cooking that you had to do!!
I too must do a lot of sorting out in the New Year, some of the rooms need a really good going over, must also sort out my finances, and not forget the garden!!
Must confess by the time that I had got to the end of your message that I did get very tearful, I get these moments, wish you had been here so that I could give you a big hug!!!
I went up the Pub last night, it is half price on a Tuesday, spent a lovely hour or so with old friends, it did me the world of good, I feel a lot more relaxed today. Spoke to my daughter and suggested that she gives our weekly meet a miss this week, with it being New Years Eve, not sure that either of us could cope with it this year.
Must make the effort and get on with some jobs.
Do have a MOST WONDERFUL NEW YEAR be happy, cheerful and most importantly be YOU!!
Do take care,
God bless,
Always
Your VH xx
LOL. Yesterday WAS Tuesday so I wasn't late.

I was invited out for dinner tonight but I don't want to get dressed and go out. I have plans to meet friends online tonight and I'll have a glass of cheer while doing that. It sounds like I'm getting old but, in reality, I never really did like going out on New Years. I don't like crowds. None of my kids are going out either. I guess we're all just fuddy duddies. LOL
So, here's a virtual hug for the New Year!!
Hi VW,
Thanks for the hug babe, another tearful moment.
Also not one for really going out on New Year, but years ago the local pub used to have a New Years Ball, men were asked to wear dinner jackets and ladies Ball Gowns or coctail dresses, I did enjoy that, as everybody looked smart, not jeans and trainers.
Was even asked to dance by young ladies on the odd occasion!!
OK I am old fashioned but I was brought up that way, bought my first dinner jacket in 1967.
Shed a tear or two last night, but spent a pleasant but quiet evening on my own, did not even have a glass of wine, mainly because I have to act as the qualified driver this afternoon.
Talking of wine, will cut down this year as I appear to be drinking five bottles a fortnight, it used to be four, this the Doctor has said is OK!
I aalso intend to really plan the year ahead with regard to the business, have just bought some more material to enable me to really get going, promise that it will not remain on my hard drive!!
As I am out this afternoon will get my lunch (Ham toastie with two poached eggs on top) and sign off for now,
Actually had a couple of hours in the garden this week and filled my two compost bins.
Take care and God Bless,
Always your VH
