Part Two - Taking a Break
Introduction
Good Evening to all you lovely people at the WA Family. As always trust that you are keeping both safe and well.
As I mentioned in my last blog I am having a rest from the world of the internet and computer, to do some other things.
In retrospect, I do not think that I really explained another reason for taking a short break, for many years I have, like many others had both pastimes, hobbies and passions (my wife calls them obsessions). Due to being scammed these all went out of the window, as I tried to earn some money via the internet.
The other week, I was talking on the phone to two of my elder cousins, they both asked questions about the Family History, I have been the Family Historian for some thirty years, this is one of my passions, or certainly was. In fact at one time when either of our children came and asked where I was, my wife has been known to reply "Upstairs playing with the dead".
The questions that my cousins asked set me thinking I had barely touched Family History for quite sometime. Have a file on the computer which contains odd items on family history, which I think might come in handy, as they appear via email. So when I had finished the two calls, sadly had to add a death, decided to have a look at the file. Could not believe over ninety entries which needed looking at. This made me realise that I really had ought to cut down the time that I was spending on the computer.
My hobby or passion was being totally ignored.
Around the same time, I had a mail from someone whom I have known for a number of years, offering me a deal on a mystery package. Decided to take him up on the offer, when it arrived it proved to be not only superb value, but contain some magic effects that I had not seen before.
Yes my second passion is magic, have been dabbling for over sixty years. Starting with card tricks, then cabaret and of course children's parties. Have done nothing really for years, though I always took some close-up magic to the Annual Convention of the Royal British Legion. The girls on the staff used to love me doing the odd effect.
Whilst I do often have a pack cards on my desk and amuse myself when I am trying to think on the business, again have neglected it if I am honest. So another reason for a change.of attitude. Regarding my magic was once a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians, even topped the bill at the Theatre Royal in Lincoln, but that was all a long time ago. Today the magic is purely for my personal pleasure.
The Last Three Days
Still do my live chat first thing, then post one advert, the rest of the day is mine. The weather has not been very kind, but have managed a little tidying up in the garden. Not being in the mood for decorating, decided to sort out my office.
That proved to be great fun, came across the digital train set that I bought to amuse my youngest grandson, another hobby was modeling, including railways, so have had to check that the trains still work. OK, that is the best excuse that I can find at the moment. But it has done me a lot of good, also been great fun.
The Next Four Days
Depending on the weather, the garden and some work around the house. It is surprising how much I look forward to getting up each day, knowing that the business is not screaming out to be worked on.
Conclusion
Think that this time you can draw your own conclusions, that I am starting to relax and feel a lot happier.
Be Happy, Healthy and Wealthy.
Please do stay safe.
God Bless
Stuart

I guess your wife would consider me playing with the dead as well. I'm the historian AND the one with all the pix so I totally understand. It is a very time consuming task though.
People think retirees have it easy and nothing to do. Have they MET US????????

Loved this Debbi. One cousin remarked that her granddaughter had found a photograph og our great grandparents wedding, to which I replied "I have the original" Have bags of pix which need sorting.
Take care.
Hi Stuart,
Thanks for sharing the reasons why you decided to relax which my son always used to say mom and dad you guys need to take a “notch” and let us have family time.
I totally agreed with you being that the two years I spent during my clinical rotations, of all my patients, those that didn’t do what they love to do or ignore it, were the ones that regret their lives, feel miserable, and make other people experience the same.
Lastly, my Godfather is in his mid-90s, lived life to the fullness, and even though he started losing memories, one thing he can’t seems to get pass is the fact that he didn’t relocate to Florida when 25 years ago to still close to the family.
Basically, life should be live to the fullness.

Those are excellent finds on your part. Any history book these days sells immediately. That would be a great task to round up and use in blog musings or articles. They could be sent in for publication, for sure. As for magic, at this point, everyone needs magic in their life. Not just the children. This is something you could use as a niche, and call yourself the expert magician. Have a great week, Edwin.
Joss, thanks for this, have already written several books on local and family history, afraid that the internet gets in the way these days.
You also have a great week.
