Introduction

Good Morning to all you lovely people at the Great WA Family, may I wish you all a most Blessed Day and hope that you are all keeping bothe safe and well, and have recovered from the busy festive season. For those of you who have decorations still up do not forget to take them down by twevlth night!!

The Last Few Days

The title of this weeks blog is quite straight forward, I also thought that it was not only appropriate but designed to make you think! Really must stop waxing lyrical!!

I do not know how you have coped with the festive season, but for me, wether it is because it is the first one on my own, that I am getting old, or as the title says, getting both lost and confused. I have almost been in a daze, having to check the calander to check not only what the date was, but also the day, sad but true!

Today is a prime example, we have a match which kicks off at 3pm, completely ruined my plans for lunch as my great grandson will arrive just after 1pm!

I have managed to spend a couple of hours in the garden, it was our bi-weekly compost bin collection, I was able to almost fill the two that I have. Did some trimming of the shrubs, gathered up some fallen leaves, had a little tidy up, not that you can tell it is such a mess. Which means eating early, simple menu today, grilled herby fillet of salmon, new potatoes and steamed peas, followed by cheese and biscuits.

In addition to working on the business this year one of my projects will be to sort out garden, I do have some new ideas, but I must not get to far ahead of myself!

I have done a little work on the cooking website, also managed to gather together some more material to write some more content (when time permits). Do also have some ideas for a new ebook, I am making a list to make life a little easier, also to avoid total confusion to my poor brain!!

I did manage to open the jigsaw that my daughter bought me, just had a wee look and separated some of the outside pieces, because of the size I have put it on one of my new canvases, which now resides on the dining table, as I have to pass it when I come into the front room, it does mean that when I feel like it that I can try to fit the odd piece.

The Next Few Days

Whilst I intend, when the weather permits to spend a littl time in the garden and to really have a go at the business, as I no longer drive, I will go for the odd walk and do some shopping. Notice that I have a Branch meeting on Tuesday, in fact both Branches meet on the same day, but I will go to my older Branch as I can walk there, having said tha the other Branch have offered to sort me a lift out when I need it, which is very kind of them.

Will close for now, as I need to start lunch.

Be Happy, Healthy and Wealthy,

Please do stay safe and take care,

God Bless.

Stuart

Surprise. It's Sunday and I'm responding. I just woke up from a 2 1/2 hr nap. That is UNHEARD of and I'm quite upset with myself for sleeping that long. I didn't sleep much last night though and now, because of this LONG nap, I probably won't sleep well tonight. I might have just messed up my circadian rhythm . 😒

Anyway, why must I take the decorations down by the 12th? I only have a couple Christmassy decorations up. The rest are more Winter such as snowmen and lanterns. I haven't put a big (7 ft) tree up in a few years. I have a small 4 ft one that I leave up year round. It's on a table and I like just turning those lights on sometimes and chilling at night with a movie and tea.

My 2 oldest kids do a puzzle every year. My son's girlfriend is good at it but my daughter's husband and I get banished to the sidelines after we help turn the pieces over and do the border. We really aren't very good. They did an M&M puzzle this year. 1000 pieces. It was cute. Next year I need to get something harder for them though.

I always look forward to Christmas. It's really the only time I can plan on us all being together. I miss have my kids close. I just loved sitting at the table with all of them even if I had to cook. I guess that's a mother thing. I like knowing WHERE my kids are and what they're doing knowing their safe. Of course, they are way too old for all that worry BUT it won't stop until MY last breath.

As far as the week between Christmas and New Year.....does ANYONE know what day or date it is? I had to keep looking at my phone. When we have to go to a 9-5 each day, it's easier to keep track of the days. So, you're not alone in all that nor are you old, getting lost or confused.

Now that we're back to "normal", I already have a "to do" list. I'm struggling to try to NOT see a dr for my congestion although I do get a yearly respiratory infection. I'm giving it a couple more days to clear. Then I have to get a new TV. I don't watch it much but I like to have it. Fri night I heard a big POP and my TV died. It was only 4-5 years old. The kids bought it for me one year for Christmas. They just don't make anything to last anymore. I have a couple exercise classes to attend and in between I want to start core training again to get back to posting. Big plans! However, my goal is to get out of this house this year! My neighbors are just getting to be too much!

So, now that I've written a book, I'll say YOU keep on with your garden, websites and meetings. It's a really good balanced life you have. Keep safe walking.

Hi VW,

Here is another surprise me responding by return, well six minutes, I will sleep tonight as I have not had a nap all day!! Just checked my mails before I go to bed so thought that I would reply to you first!!

All I can say about your sleep is that you must have needed it, the body does know best you know!!

The twelvth night is as far as I know meant to bring you bad luck if you leave them up, I have taken my cards down, my little tree somplete with lights, only 18 inches tall will be put away tomorrow, have to take the batteries out first, did not bother last year ands they worked just fine.

I bought a new item this year a Santa and Sleigh, have to take the batteries out of that as well.

Could be a job for tomorrow as I notice since I closed the curtains that we have had a fall of snow, hope that it is not too much, as my spade is down the garden!

Did intend to walk into Town tomorrow, but will not do so if the pavements arre not safe, I am bad enough on my legs as it is.

My puzzle is 1,000 pieces, I used to be able to finish smaller ones too quickly, but that was a long time ago!!

I do know that today is Sunday, the date 4th january, only know the date because it says so on my PC!!

As I have just got up of my chair to refill my wine glass, opened the front door to see what snow we have had, it just a light covering at the moment which appears to have stopped.

I do so agree with worrying over the kids, I worry over my eldest grandson, have seen him once since the funeral, I know he is OK, but would love to see him.

The kids bought Yvonne a TV Last year for the dining room where her bed was, I do put it on if I want to watch something and mine is playing up.

I do pyhsio every morning for my back, legs and shoulders, it does appear to help.

I also have a lot planned this year, including training so that I can produce a really useful website(s).

Such a shame about your nieghbours, I am lucky only have one, in the msin she is OK, her two dogs think that I am great as they go mad a cuddle when they see me.

Do have a great week, take care of your chest, keep warm, stay safe.

Goodnight and God Bless.

Noted. Tomorrow I shall put all my Christmassy things away. I don't need bad luck. I do love my tree though. It's comforting. I hope that doesn't count. LOL Well, maybe I can take it down for something different this year. I want a fresh reboot and that might be symbolic.
I need prayers to get out of this house!!!!

Night! Sweet dreams!!!!!

Hi VW,

A nice thing to see first thing in the morning a reply from you.

Have just put my Cristmas things away, I do have a 6ft tree in the loft, used to put out a model village out each year, the grandkids loved it, an ice rink with dancers, a windmill plus lots of other bits, just could not be bothered to get it out this year!

Have just arranged for someone to come and have a look at my car this afternoon, if the price is right I will sell it, a wrench but it has to be done.

Will get on with some work and have a coffee.

Take care dear lady,

In my prayers.

God Bless

I, too, love gardening! Very inspiring, post!

While I was doing night shifts, I struggled with days and time (LOL). Wishing you great success with your cooking website.

Stuart, it is safe to say that that title is often pondered by many of us. You are not alone. I often envision starting a garden and constantly promise myself that I will one day. I repeatedly say that I'm in the research phase.

Keep perfecting your skills, I'll be looking in your direction for some pointers.

Have an awesome day,

Canty

I will try Canty.

It's always good to get out into the garden although here we are having more rain this year then we have had in the past 5 years. Great for the ground and the reservoirs though

So very true.

Hello Stuart.

I think it's easy to get confused about the days during the holidays, when there is no definite structure to the days. So it's not just your age...

And great that you seem to be making some progress on your cooking site and clearing up your garden. It's beautifully sunny - though bitter cold today. Wrap up warm! I am just about to take my dog for a walk wrapped in many layers of clothes.

Have a good week. Your simple lunch today sounds perfectly delicious.

Isabella

Hi Isabella,
The simple lunch was just superb. It has certainly been cold today.
May you also have a great week.
