Back Again
Introduction
Good Evening to all you lovely people at the Great WA Family, aa always do so hope that you are all keeping both safe and well.
After days of things not going right on the new computer when trying to fit things into my new one, I finally picked up my new machine this afternoon, and boy, did I get a shock, gone was the old tower, in its place was a slick small black box, this was my new computer. OK the old one was very old, but I expect all of you already have one like my new one!
Spent sometime getting to know it, at the moment I cannot sort out my email account, but did manage to get logged on to WA, just do not ask how?
Must confess that the speed is quite something, press a button and it appears on screen almost instantly. Will now spend a few days getting to know just what it will do, I could have a problem sorting out the email, not sure what the password is, which I set many years ago, also my mobile, which is the authenticator no longer works. Will speak to my man tomorow to see if he can help!
Having a modern machine has meant having to have a new keyboard, something to do with a different connection and WiFi, do not ask, far above my pay grade, I just push letters and words appear on the screen. But I do like it!
The Last Few Days
Being without the machine has meant a chage of direction with regard to what I have been able to do, or not do as the case maybe.
However let me start at the beginning on Wednesday I had a tooth removed, it took a mere forty five minutes to get it out, it had a double root, this is what caused the problem, have had to go back as I was in a lot of pain. Finally on anti-biotics and told what pain killers to use, the jaw and gum are still tender, but I appear to be able to control the pain, I think that discomfort is a better way to describe the problem.
It has meant a change to what I am allowed to eat, soft food only, as much as I like pasta and rice, I am beginning to get fed up with it, did have a bowl of soup at lunchtime. Also porridge for breakfast instead of Bran and Fruit. Forgot, it also cannot be hot!!
With the weather being so nice I have been able to spend a few hours in the garden each day, it is good to see gaps apearing where weeds have reigned for many months, OK a few years in some cases!! This has enabled me to continue to plan for some of the areas which I was not sure about.
Did manage to have a couple of falls, on Saturday I was pulling a weed out, and fell backwards, hitting my back on a large flower pot, did struggle to get up but made it, as on Sunday I fell forwards head butting the concrete wall as I did so, do have a lump, and it feels as if the skin was broken, but I am so full of pain kilers for my tooth that it has not seemed to cause me a problem.
Two of my paths are now clear enough to walk down, just the centre one, of course the most overgrown one to do. I have put some more shrubs into larger containers, also some of the plug plants have been potted onto a larger size of pot.
Was a little annoyed this afternoon to see that the area that I had cleared at the bottom of the Garden, is once again in need of a lot of help.
Having filled the two compost bins, I have also filled three large black bags. Think that a visit to the local Council Dump is required.
As I discover more space so I am able to visulise where the new perenials will go. In Sammy's Garden I planted a pack of Dutch Iris, I split them into two clumps, they are all showing well with one group beginning to flower, at the moment these are mainly a deep Blue, wih one White one, but they do look nice. Must attack that garden next.
The Next Few Days
I do have two Legion meetings this week, one is a Committee Meeting the other a Branch one, the second one I could arrive late at as I have been invited to attend the Ceremony of Installing the new Council Chairman, I normally attend the drinks reception afterwards, but will have to give it a miss this year, what a shame as they notmally serve a decent drop of Red Wine!!
Also have a Cricket Match starting on Thursday, nothing for days, then everything at once. still at least we have the One Day International between England and the West Indies to enjoy the week after, It is a ladies game, which I really enjoy, as they are usually very good.
Once I get organised on here it will be time to see if I can do some work done, do have a USB ready to study if need be when I am on hoiday in Torquay, roll on a week on Sunday, I really am looking forward to this, as I intend to make it a proper holiday, in one of my favourite places.
Having said that I have already looked at a piece of work which I have and done a ittle studying, or should I say revising. Also beeen able to visit one of my websites to check that I can, will play with some of the other ones later. This will hopefully enable me to make a decision which site to concntrate on next. Do realise that I will have to search for some material which I have, or did have, but we will see.
Think that will do for tonight, all being well will be back on Sunday, but it could be late.
Be Happy, Healthy and Wealthy.
Please do stay safe and take care.
God Bless.
Stuart

Hi Stuart, lovely to hear you are still on here. Not been on myself for a long time.
The speed on new machines is great isn't it? You don't realise how bad the old one is until the new one is in place.
Sorry to hear about the falls, these things can happen so easily when the mind isn't paying full attention. Do take care.
Enjoy the cricket. My 7 year old grandson is learning to play cricket in school, he's loving it. A new generation to keep the game going.
Have a good week
Linda
Hi Linda,
Yes the new computer is certainly fast, it is quite something, I am still getting used to it, but it is fun.
Your Grandson is starting at the right age, I wish him well.
Take care,
Stuart
Good morning, Stuart,
Great that you've got your new computer. Yes, when you've been used to an old, slow one, the speed of a new one seems amazing. It'll take a while to get it set up exactly how you want. I can totally relate to your problem of no longer knowing passwords, managing to get something set up without actually knowing how I did it...
I can also relate to your cleared garden area needing attention again. That's what happens in the spring and summer. Everything - including weeds - just shoots up.
I hope your two falls have made you realise that you need to be careful.
The soreness of your gums should go away soon. Don't aggravate it with hot soup, even if you are getting bored of pasta and rice and porridge.
Have a good week. Enjoy the cricket.
Isabella
Hi Isabella,
Thanks for your reply, I feel as if I am in the reala world once more.
Do keep shouting at myself to watch what I am doing, get very poor with my walki9ng, need a stick when I am out, but it gets in the way when I am in the garden.
Have the soup very cool, am being careful with not having things too hot.
Even have Tea and Coffee very tepid!!
Looking forward to the cricket, though it is becoming a busy few days!
Enjoy the rest of the week.
Stuart
Well.....I was wondering where you were. I figured you were busy. You took on a lot of duties.
UGH, you remember what I went through when I got my new computer. It took forever to get it set up. I had to have an adapter for my old monitor then a new keyboard and mouse and last a new printer. Once it's done though, you'll be happy you bought the new one.
So, you fell twice? You need to be careful! It's one of the things I worry about being alone. No one will know for days. You're lucky you didn't get really hurt and perhaps knocked out!!! OK, the VW is clicking in again....lol
Hang in there with your tooth. Going to the dentist is the absolute worst but necessary although porridge doesn't sound good. In any case, be careful in the garden while you're on meds!!!
It sounds like you have another busy week. I got a note from a long lost potential relative who had DNA done so I had to get back into the family tree. I can get lost in research for hours and sometimes it gets overwhelming. My ex's family has a lot of relatives in England and I have much of their history. We might even be distant relatives. LOL
Well, you have a great week and TAKE CARE of yourself.
Always
Your VW
Hi VW,
Wondered where you were as it seems ages since I last heard from you, of course it is possibly only a few days! that is the VH kicking in!!
I am OK with the moniter, the printer is new, but not yet connected, I have had it for a while, but never got it connected, bought a new keyboard and mouse when I picked up the new computer yesterday.
Do need to take more care when I walk round the Garden usually use a stick when I am out, as a safety measure, but find it difficult to use in the garden. Yvonne was always telling me to pick my feet and stop shuffling. I bet she was looking down saying I did keep telling you!!
Just got some bread out of the Freezer for Lunch, have some thinly sliced ham! Yes I do take the crusts off, at the moment!
Another break while I put the clean and dried washing away, to make space on the airers for this mornings washing! such a busy boy!!
Also just made an important phone call, that lasted twenty minutes, I really will get this finished before I have lunch. lol.
Regarding the Family Tree, my worst nightmare when I switched on the new machine, it has gone, and I might struggle to get it back, forget how many thousand names are on it, if I cannot find it, then thank goodness that I have kept all the paper recoreds (I think!). Also still keep Ancestry paid up, which will help, however this could mean that the work on the website might be reduced, but we will see, I am determined to get the garden done this year.
Any English names that stick out?
Last day of meds today and I have been able to reduce the painkillers, though it is still nagging me a little.
Have a great rest of the week, you also take great care.
As always,
Your VH
OK, you're losing track of time. It has not been that long! Must be the meds and your wife would be right. lol
Just be careful and take care of yourself.
Always

Great to hear that you are back online with us again Stuart.... modern technology has moved on leaps and bounds since I last bought a new computer!
Totally understand where you are coming from with the tooth problems.... mine still haven't gone away even after visiting the dentist four times last week!!
Look after yourself when in the garden ok!
I'm looking forward to all of the cricket coming up over the summer....
Derbyshire are still doing ok... and the internationals look enthralling!
Stay well my friend and enjoy the rest of your week! :-)
Hi Jessie,
I am looking forward to the Internationals, as well as the game with Kent this week.
Pleased to say that my tooth problem is a little easier.
Still getting used to the new machine, but it certainly is fast.
Have a great rest of the week.
Take care,
Stuart
