A Much Happier Bunny
Introduction
Good Afternoon to all you lovely people at the Great WA Family, as always do so hope that you are all keeping both safe and well.
As is often usual with me the clue to my week is in the title. My daughter phoned on Monday to say that Grandson Joshua was out of hospital. He is recuperating at his partners, they both have their own houses, so spend time at the house that suits them best. Cat his partner is a vet, so I think that they spend a lot of the time at her place in the week. Often think that this is a good idea if something goes wrong they both have somewhere to live.
To keep you in the loop, regarding my lunch, nice and simple today, a ready made Beef Dinner popped in the microwave, followed by Millionaires Cheese Cake, finished off with a plate of Cheese and Biscuits all washed down with a couple of glasses of Malbec. Most enjoyable.
The Last Few Days
Not quite sure where to start this week as I have managed to keep fairly busy, this includes a couple or so hours in the garden, it was dry enough to enable me begin work on pruning my main shrubbery, over the years it has got a little out of hand, alright, some of the shrubs must twelve feet high!! The plan is to try to get them down to at least six feet, five would be better. However it will depend what I can get them down too. It does mean that one of my compost bins wil be emptied this week as it is nearly full already!
With clearing some of the growth, I noticed that the undergrowth is covered with self grown hardy cyclamen, if they are able to flower they will make a lovely show, as well as keeping the weeds down. Also have a couple of clumps of snowdrops in flower, I say this every year but I really must divide them this spring, I do have space in a couple of shady spots. They always cheer me up when I see them. Managed to fork over some gound in the main flower bed which I had started to clear in the Autumn, weeds were begining to appear!
Noticed that one of the perenials was flopping a bit, so got a cane and some twine to tie it up, guess who over balanced and ended up on his knees! Where I fell was soft, it was getting up that was the trouble, fortunately I did not go too far forward, so I did not head butt the brick wall!! I know - not safe to be let out, I just get so frustrated when this happens, I still think that I am twenty two not eighty two - lol.
One day I caught the Bus at the top of the road and went into Burton, both my Banks have now shute in the local town and I needed both of them sorting out, they were very helpful, so had a spot of lunch and called at the freezer centre before returning home.
In my quest to sort things out on the business front, instead of making notes on a pad I have finally opened a blank page on this wonderful machine on which to write notes as I think of them! Will sort out using a weekly planner as well.
At last have so much material that I can start to think about an ebook! I know I say this every other week, must get myself totally sorted.
Talking of which I think that I have mentioned before that I have been collecting stamps for many years, to this end noticed that I have a large box of over a thousand unsorted stamps of Canada, to help me sort them out I have sent for a Catalogue of Canada so that I know what is what.
The garden catalogues have started to arrive so will spend a happy hour or two seeing what is new!
The Next Few Days
If the weather is kind will attempt to fill the other compost bin before it goes out on Thursday Evening, hopefully with more shrub cuttings. Also have some cardboard to separate as well.
Think that planning where to go next with regard to sorting out the business and also the house now becomes a priority, I am now ready to go through each room and get them as I want them, some work but if I work at a steady pace it will soon get done. (I hope!!).
To avoid boring you all too much, will get a planner onto the computer and get sorted, close this have a cuppa and a chocolate eclair and get started.
Be happy,healthy and wealthy,
Please do take care and stay safe,
God Bless.
Stuart

Hello Stuart,
Yes, you do sound like a much happier bunny! Good to hear that Joshua is at home and is being looked after by his partner.
And I am glad you didn't hurt yourself when you overbalanced in the garden. I can totally relate to the difficulty of getting back up. I too find that my brain wants to do things as if my body was decades younger and forgets my actual age.
You'll find sorting out things bit by bit will be very satisfying, and now that the days are longer and the weather should be getting better, it'll get easier.
I too am sorting things out - last Sunday my children and I were all sitting together in our living room and we were updating our will - that was last made over 30 years ago...
Your ebook sounds exciting too - and I think you have a lovely mix of things to keep you busy.
Have a great week.
God Bless.
Isabella
That sounds like a great plan, Stuart! Taking things step by step is the best way to make progress without feeling overwhelmed. Enjoy your cuppa and chocolate éclair, and best of luck with the sorting and planning.
Hi, Stuart.
It must be comforting to know Joshua is out of the hospital - a happier bunny, indeed.
Gardening is a few months out for me. I'm a little jealous. We're getting quite a bit of snow.
The good news about your e-book is that you continue to pursue it. You're not letting it go, and that is key.
Good luck with your computer.
Dave
Lovely picture. I love looking at snow, I love to see children making snowmen, but now that I am old and have mobility issues, I am very glad that we have so far only had a sprinkling a couple of times this winter.
We're supposed to get up to 18" with this storm - haven't seen that in years. The temperature has been in the single digits, so the snow is easy to move, with a granular consistency, not packable for making snowballs.
I used to be able to throw a baseball from deep center field to homeplate. Now I can barely throw a snowball 20 feet, lol. Time is a brute!
I can totally relate. I have a dog that has got used to my kind of ball throwing. When a young person comes and throws it for her much higher and much further, she gets confused - 'where has it gone??'
Hey Stuart
Sound like you've had a nice relaxing Sunday. I myself love gardening, find it very peaceful.
The Burton you speak of is along Highway 6, I take it.? just curious.
Enjoy the rest of your day. ^_^ Cheers
Hi Paul,
The Burton that I speak of is in Staffordshire, England, it is actually Burton-on-Trent.
Regards
Stuart
Hi Stuart
Yeah, Isabella told me, my bad thought it was the one in British Columbia. I've heard of Barton-on-Trent, the "beer capital of England.
Thanks for the correction, ^_^ Cheers

Hey VH,
Not sure why I have to look for your blog every week. Others come through but not yours. In any case, I'm here.
This was kind of a stressful week. The weather forecasters just hyped up the winter storm so much, they had everyone scared. They said it was going to be on e of the worst storms with power down. Prepare for DAYS without power. It's actually the first time I did prepare. In reality, I shoveled about 6 inches in my driveway yesterday and I see about 2 inches more that has fallen but my back is saying NO to going out there. Actually, while I was shoveling a wintery mix was falling so what is out there now is a LOT of ice! I have NO plans to leave today OR tomorrow so it can stay and maybe it will melt some.
BE CAREFUL out in that garden. It could have ended very differently! When you live alone, you have to be more cautious since it may be a while before anyone realizes something happened.
Glad to hear Joshua is home. It's a much better environment to heal. Hope he's up to par quickly.
Ugh, now you have me hungry for an eclair! I'm NOT leaving my house though. Actually, I'm not sure I could! My car looks like it's glazed with ice and the plow made an icy pile at the end of my driveway. May have to work on it tomorrow.
In the meantime, YOU be careful and have a good week.
Always
Your VW
Hi VW,
About to go to bed, but saw this, and guess what you have priority, so will have a go at a reply.
Watched the game at Denver on Sunday night so was aware of the heavy snowfall, as long as you are OK! It would be no use me being there to help as I doubt very much if my back would let me!! Could try to melt it with weed killer and melt it!
Just you take care and have a great week.
Goodnight and God Bless,
As always
Your VH xx
Sleep well! XO
Due to a storm which kept me awake half the night, I finally dropped off and woke after 9.30. I had intended to go shopping this morning, but as it has started raining again, will sort my emails out instead.
Have agreat day.
