My successes after 2 weeks.
I have joined the Premium team, as I determined that you can't go very far without this membership. I have created one niche, and another will be coming as soon as I work out some challenges on how to do things on a website. On the niche I'm doing all my experimenting on, I believe I will create a system that will be very unique and valuable to those who would use it. I have started over once now after shooting myself in the foot by going too far ahead of the courses. So for now, I'm continuing to Course 3, and take each lesson one step at a time.
I have successfully created pages and menus, and also links to other sites for needed information. My challenge is how I can perhaps implement my own database search with dropdowns for a user to choose as they go through this site.
I haven't made a dime yet, but realize that it is too early to expect at this stage.

One step or lesson at a time is the correct approach, Richard.
Also just about every theme should have a search widget you can add.
From the Wordpress dashboard go to > Appearance > Widgets > add the search widget to 'Main Sidebar', 'Pages', or anywhere else you would like the search bar to appear.
This should already have your sites information stored as well so people can find topics or related topics after searching.
As far as a drop down for the search bar I am unsure.
