Let Time Take It's Time

Starting out for the first time as an affiliate marketer, some of us try our hardest to rush to the other side. The weird part about that mentality is we do not know where that is.

We can flood our site with content but time will take time. We can dump the most affiliate links we can find into our site neatly, yet time will still take time.

We can over saturate our social media forums and exploit email list serves; still, time will take its time. During this process, we have to remember to not overwork ourselves. Some days we can focus on our site's reconstruction.

Other days we can focus on generating comments and checking social platforms for progress. We want to make sure we keep creating new content, but we should not overdo it to a magnitude of feeling stressed. This process still needs to be fun for you.

If you get too frustrated too fast, and that frustration lasts for too long you will get discouraged. Some may even quit early. But if you let time take its time you will see the progress will happen without you even being there.

I did a lot of content in a short period of time, and I am still producing. Every time I get bored I sit at the computer and write something. I have some things I had to do and I also lost my edge for writing meaningful content. The keyword there was meaningful.

I stopped writing for a week. Would you believe that 3 of my articles and my site domain are Ranked on the first page of Bing and Yahoo? I have another article on the second page of bing. While I was not sure what to write, I was adding photos to all my links. I still have 7 pages on my site that need imagery. I also received 4 more affiliate programs.

What you need to take away from this is while it is important to always try to put up new content, if you cannot do anything else just tend to your site. Clean things up. Move things around and add new links if you have and that you have not gotten to. But Most of all do not try to cram it all into one day.

By taking a break I was able to create a very impressive article today. I do not know what I did right here but I'll be gosh darn if the article I just wrote is not sitting in the #1 spot on bing and #3 on Yahoo. On the first page right below the paid ads is Fashionable Trends - Casual Fashion For Women Over 50. WHAT?

I decided to do something different with Jaaxy today. I found several keyword phrases that I was hoping I could use in a single article. Then I grabbed the ones with an SEO rating above 95. It is important to find keywords and phrases with a high average and a low QSR. We learn that from the training. But how to aim for the most traffic and still be ranked #1 is still a learning process.

With this article, I grabbed a key phrase with 4783 Avg and a QSR of 4 the SEO was 90. I wanted to use my site name the Avg and QSR was low but SEO was 89. The next two key phrases I used were focused on QSR being low and SEO being high. One QSR was 22 the other was 78. If it is less than 100 you are good. However, my SEO was 97 and 96.

This made me stop and look over some of the other lists I made recently and I noticed that I never made this kind of combination before. You know if I was tunnel-visioned towards writing as much new content as I can I would not have ever noticed that?

I have a new objective now; find keyword phrases with high SEO to accommodate key phrases with high AVG and low QSR. This might be a game-changer for me. While I keep chasing my goals time is taking time. Because I stepped back and just watched time take its time I learned something. You have to rest to have a clear head. You have to enjoy life because that is what you are doing this for. And be your own customer.

Go back and look at what you have done, not from an editor's perspective, from a reader's perspective. Skim through your articles just to see if anything stands out. Flip through your site pages just to see if everything looks normal for you.

Then, while staying on your site's theme, try to come up with something new. Not new, as in, freshly written, new as in, different and creative. Something that will make a return reader say "hold up, what's this?" You might see increased results. Your results will not come faster. Why? Because time still needs to take its time.

One of these days I am going to start doing training blogs for the people that come behind me.

That is very smart, Reverend!

I agree with taking breaks between work to avoid burnout and come out with fresh ideas.
Congrats on the progress with your articles.
Great advice, thanks.

As worker bees, we are used to grinding from the time we clock in until the time we clock out. With Affiliate Marketing we start work when we want to and stop when we want to.

Until we have money flowing we do not know when to stop. So we grind from the time we wake up until the time we fall asleep.

Some of us are thinking about our site when we are not working on our site. That develops a base level of stress that defeats the purpose of taking a break.

By separating ourselves from work we can log off from the job, then we can rationalize what already happened then figure out what to do when we return to work.

The sentence I connected to the most was "You have to rest to have a clear head." There is so much wisdom in that!

We put ourselves under a lot of pressure. Some want extra spending money others want to quit working for someone else and then there are those that have this as all they have to go on.

If the only goal is to make money then we will get frustrated. Nobody can think clearly when their judgment is clouded by emotion.

Step away and stop thinking about it then you will find a more creative approach.

I just read a concept in another member's blog entry, talking about
"Amor Fati - A Love of Fate." My perspective of this concept is that we should just let life happen *without* putting ourselves under pressure. Just go with the flow, so to speak. It's okay to make changes in one's life, but once you start those changes, let the changes happen as they will, and do your part within those changes as long as it feels right. Kind of like "Let go and let God."

Thanks for your comments, Rev!

Yes Ma'am, I am over the moon with joy. I cannot grasp how much freedom I have with this until I take time off and not see a decline in my progress. Thank you Susan

You are very welcome. Your efforts are paying off. So happy for you!

All good advice, I regularly go back and re check posts. I find myself linking to my older posts more often and this also gives me a chance to update the old content and fine tune meta descriptions and put in a set image etc.

I thought this was a great topic to bring up because I started adding images to all of my links. Then I added images to my articles also. Going forward I plan to add a few images to site pages as well.

When I go back and look through my articles I find grammatical errors or simply link the older posts. I try to make it a habit to fine-tune the meta description when I first create the post.

I have found that I have about 8 or 10 sub niches that I can leverage from this one site. Like you, I update some of my older posts by expanding the content or updating the affiliate link to support the current sales offered by each program.

I have to constantly change my site's organization to adapt to the extra niches. It makes the site more user friendly while providing more options for the reader to choose from. In the long run this site might be a "go to" site for most searches based on the wide variety of products that are either offered or discussed.
