Milestones

Hello, my most wonderfully astute and wise WA family members! I'd like to share 3 milestones that are in my midst.

Milestones are points in our journey to take stock in what we've accomplished, as well as assess the pathway forward.

Milestone 1

At the beginning of the week, I was reminded that I have been here at WA for 6 months.

That's just a bit of time in a life, however it is significant in that I have learned so much about creating a quality website.

Be that as it may, that's not the best part of my time here. Through the many wise souls here in the WA family, I've created connections that I suspect will last awhile.

I have also learned some things about myself that will help me be successful going forward in this affiliate marketing venture. Thank you WA and all the wonderful folks that make it a helpful, successful community!

Milestone 2

I finally got to the point where my YouTube channel has met the requirements to be monetized.

To get paid from the ads that run on your videos, you have to have 1000 subscribers and 4,000 watch hours. That may sound like a lot, but when I came to WA just 6 months ago, I had 195 subscribers and 600 watch hours. So, just like blogging, video by video, you build it up and become an authority in your niche.

It can also help drive traffic to your website! It's a worthy venture. If you don't want to appear on video, you can just do a voice over to a video you shoot of some scene, or a slideshow of pictures. If I can do it, you can!

Of course this isn't the end, it's just a milestone: I see great things ahead!

Milestone 3

The last 2 markers have been crossed, the next one is just ahead.

For me, the most important personal goal is not financial, My main goal is to maintain my good health well into my old age. I turn 70 in August. To celebrate, my wife and I will be hiking Half Dome in Yosemite National Park.

The picture above is the last part of the hike on cables which go to the top of the up exposed granite dome. The entire hike is 16.4 miles round trip, The trail climbs 4,800 feet in elevation, from 4000ā€² to 8839ā€² at the top.

My Point

My point is that not too many 70 year old's try this. It is not for the casual hiker. Itā€™s rated extremely difficult. Iā€™m doing it for my 70th birthday to bring awareness that Qigong is a way to allow your body to thrive well into your aged years. The hike takes 8 ā€“ 12 hours to complete, depending on oneā€™s fitness level.

To help gain authority in my niche, I have to show that it works with my actions. Otherwise, I'm just another fraud selling something that may or may not work just to make money.

This also proves to me that I am still in the prime of my life, and no mountain of a challenge can stop me from being the best version of myself which is still evolving. The self-work never ends. It just gets sweeter.

How great to be making that trip at 70! I wish you all the best. I "came down with" arthritis when I turned 70. Unexpected -- it just hit me -- have been dealing with it ever sine. I congratulate you on being in sufficiently good condition to take on that challenge!

Thanks, Fran!
It's my number one job to stay healthy, because that's what I teach. Otherwise I'd be one more fraud.šŸ¤£

Thanks for you kind sentiments.

Keep on thriving, good luck with your arthritis, consider trying a combination of near red and infrared light.
It worked for my toes.šŸ‘

Al

Thanks for the suggestion.

What I am doing is using an anti-inflammatory diet. It has reduced or eliminated my pain. It's not easy, but I'm used to it now, so know what I can eat and what does not work.

That's great, Fran!
Nutrition is key!
8ts the most difficult behavior for folks to change, so I don't ever lead with it.

Congrats on treating your body well!

Al

Regarding you tube I think you also need an afiliate ad on your you tube site. I believe they recently added this prerequisite šŸ¤”

I only use YouTube to market my own courses, I don't use it for affiliate links.

Not a bad idea though!

No but they want u to add an affiliate ad as a prerequisite to the hours and subsšŸ™„

Hi Al happy 70th I've looked at your you tube and gave it a subscribe ha ha and your website looks good and so do you you old fart ha ha get use to it That's what my friends kids call me sometimes. I will be 72 this December and consider myself pretty healthy. Perfect blood pressure and weight is good but my wife and I did get covid on monday and the first 2 days was like a bad cold which I haven't had in 7 1/2 yrs.
We are feeling much better now we both had the vaccine twice and a booster. I think that helped. We are under self quarantine until sunday . Monday we get to go outšŸ˜šŸ‘Œ
About your future climbing venture.
That's a great looking climb but don't stress your muscles!
About 4 yrs ago i tore my small muscle on my right bicep so I have a popeye muscle on that arm.
It was weird cause I only carried a small bucket of tools on a roof a 1/2 dozen times and later that night noticed the popeye muscle. The doctors won't operate I'am not an athlete and it has gotten to be more painful over the last few years. So be careful. I have thought of going to a private surgeon to have it operated. Apparently an arp wave machine can help if there us any attachment still on the shoulder.
Your also needing a big congrats on your accomplishments on you tube !

A young man name Mat par is a real expert on you tube and makes a ton of money and he started in his late teens and now in his early 20's makes $35,000 plus a month on you tube and has a course on how to try to do the same.
So, keep going your doing greeaat!

All the best!!! Big Al !

Thanks John!
I appreciate your subscription and you're warm wishes and advice!

I'll go at my own pace, I'm in no hurry!
