Hitting the Blah's I could use some encouragement
Hi everybody -- well I worked literally night and day there for the first week on my website. I was caught up in the thrill of understanding how to do it better (especially the SEO) and meeting all of you great people and this wonderful resource here at WA.
Then my body caught up with me and I needed to catch up on my sleep lol
But that was the weekend (I kind of missed Easter) and now it is time to get going again and I am kind of spinning my wheels.
My niche is helping people who haven't worked at home online over the hump into a home career. My website is www.homecareergateway.com
I want to go two new directions on my site. One is to add WA links for people who want to be their own boss online and the other is to direct people toward a service that helps them go back to school to improve their skills so they would become able to work online. I am waiting to hear back from the school service and I am hesitating to put a bunch of stuff that has to do with being your own boss on the website before they approve me because my site is very new and the educational service makes a big point of saying how picky who they approve. Most colleges and universities only let other schools be their affiliates so I had to look a long time to find this service.
Another direction I could go is to help people set up their home office. I found an affiliate program which pays 15% on computers (I'm thinking out loud here) so maybe I could work on that and not tip the balance of my website away from education until the education people make a decision.
I don't know... I just think maybe I am putting obstacles up in my own path. Does anybody have any thougths?
I wrote one or two posts a day for the first week and now I haven't written a post since Saturday or so. I really care about doing this. I think I just am feeling a bit lost. I belong to a bunch of affiliate programs now and I know how to put links on my pages... I've done a few.
I feel like waiting to hear back from that educational place is really holding me up. But I really want to represent them. They are exactly what I was looking for. Maybe I should see if they have a competitor who is more accepting.
Am I whining??
I feel caught up in indecision.

I hear and feel you. It's okay to assess your situation, to think about plans A, B, C. Sounds like you've been doing a lot and this has kind of mushroomed into a creative break for you.
Nope - not whining:-)!
Your niche sounds like it has room for a tad bit more than the formal education link up. When we want to move forward with full steam, waiting on 'approval' can feel like a drag if we focus there for a minute.
Take a 5 minute break and do something that you enjoy and has nothing to do with your online business...including a nap:-)
When you arise, revisit the basics of why you chose your niche and decide what your next step will be given all of the pieces in front of you...You GOT This!
This is a kind of marathon, true we sprint ever so often but it is a bit longer than the 100m dash:-)
