Keyword Tool, Keyword in Article, Then What?

Roughly about 2 months after joining WA, I now have these:

  • my own website on health and wellness
  • premium tools and trainings
  • live webinars
  • unlimited Q&A
  • 16 articles

I usually do random searches, and the other day, I just thought of checking what ranking my website is. I searched on "how to check website ranking" which yielded sites like Alexa, SERP rank checker, pagerank checker, etc.

I was somewhere in the 50 millionth rank. That is when my site was first created.

I updated Alexa, and it showed the rank somewhere in the 4 millionth.

That was a long way up already, but still a long, long, long, long way from rank #1. Ambitious? That is what we want to be here in WA, so that we get to hit the money part, right?

Got me to thinking, what am I doing wrong? What am I doing right, but is not enough?

I saw these as challenges, so today I joined the SEO live webinar, but I had to leave earlier due to some required errands (I needed to go to the market to buy fresh fish; pretty big errand, huh?).

Okay, when I got back, I am relieved to find that the webinar is already available in the Live Video Classes section. But what I picked while I was logged in was that all that is required to make a website successful - amiable to Google, we already have it here in WA. Everything is taught here, what do you know?

So I cannot rest until I am satisfied, I am using everything that is available to me here in WA, but why don't my site or articles get ranking? Of course, I am learning a lot from the SiteComments and I am improving (?) in my way of interacting through comments.

Back to my original question. I know I am hitting my keywords. I am writing with keywords and long-tailed keywords in my first paragraph, well within the 140-char window. I don't use (anymore) meta-tags, but I have my Title all aligned to leverage on my chosen keywords. I do my research thoroughly, sometimes even to the wee hours of the morning, and I write my articles as much in the conversational style as possible. I have my CTA at the end, whether or not they are explicitly stated - I have all of these.

So what is missing?

There is one area that I know I am not very much convinced that I am at par with. I don't use Jaaxy. I can't afford it now. So I content myself with WA Keyword Tool, and Google. I had the chance of submitting my website to Bi!"ng a couple of days back, and I saw that there is some search stats. I also saw that in Google there are searches, my search categories and terms increasing with the number of articles submitted, but somehow that doesn't cut it.

What isn't being done right?

Like I suspected in me, I doubted my use of keywords. By the way, Jay N said it, and I heard it loud and clear, "Whatever has been done, don't change it. Especially the URL of your pages of posts. That would create chaos. Whatever you learned, let it be a guiding light to now and the future!" (emphasis added). I know the feeling. It is easy to go back and edit everything because we can, right? But let that learning be for now and the future.

When I searched for "keyword in articles" as this is what I seem to be weak at, there was a list. Trainings. Questions and Blogs. I skipped the Trainings, went down to look at Questions and Blogs. There was Veronica's blog.

Is it a coincidence?

Quite a success story. But still, not what I was looking for. Veronica mentioned Kyle doing a case study on keyword, one that is totally unfamiliar, and hey, that caught my attention. Went to that link, since Veronica provided it.

By the way, before I forget, there was a blog written by Jane, a progress report which monetized, even after 5 months of inactivity (on her side, that is). That must have spurred my curiosity a lot!

Back to the case study. I looked at that article, and yes, that is the missing link. But not quite (again)?

I said, now that I know how to tie things up on the keyword and article, what does this StreetArticle has to do now? There were comments, and there were similar questions, as what I have in mind. That pinned the whole thing down.

Back then, these article directories were used to bring in the traffic, but the point of the whole thing is this: the way you write your article using your skill, if it is able to get ranked in StreetArticles, use the same skill, employ the same technique when you do your articles for your website, that is a sureball way to bring in the money.

So that's it. I know now WHAT to do, and HOW to do it. And I've known about this at a time when I have tons of article ideas in my mind. I'm gonna do this, and only time will tell if I am succeeding. Hopefully, it isn't a long, long, long, long time.

To our success!

Words well worth remembering. Success comes through our mistakes. Thomas Edison tried over 10,000 times to make a light bulb before he succeeded. Imagine the patience that took? So, keep your head and learn, learn, and learn some more. You will get to that first page yet. :)

You are learning and growing and success is just a matter of time and consistent effort and work on your part. I like the advice from Jay, "Whatever has been done, don't change it. Especially the URL of your pages of posts. That would create chaos. Whatever you learned, let it be a guiding light to now and the future!"
