Landing Page: This Time, It Clicked

Just to set the record straight, landing pages used to intimidate me.

I tried to build one a few months back, but it didn't go well. I had zero idea what I was doing, and even though I could picture it in my head, trying to make it come to life on the screen was not working. After wrestling with it, I gave up and took the whole thing down.

But here's the important part—I came back to it.

After some time, I gave landing pages another try. This time, I researched and discovered the Elementor plugin. It wasn’t easy at first, but once I got into it, I started making real progress—and eventually, my page was live.

What Is a Landing Page, and Why Do You Need One?

Think of a landing page as a one-stop shop for your message. Unlike an entire website with multiple tabs and distractions, a landing page keeps things laser-focused. You can guide your visitors to one explicit action—grabbing a freebie, signing up for your newsletter, or, in my case, promoting my book.

Why I Now Love Landing Pages

• They give your audience one thing to do, which keeps it simple and effective.
• You can spark curiosity without overwhelming visitors.
• They look clean, modern, and professional.
• They’re perfect for linking from social media, emails, or videos.
• You can track how people interact with them—what works and doesn’t.

Elementor Made It Easy

The Elementor plugin surprised me. It’s a drag-and-drop builder for WordPress. There was no coding, which was great for me—just templates and tools that helped me visualize my ideas.

Was it perfect the first time? Not even close. But I kept going, and that made all the difference. Progress over perfection, right?

Where I’m At Now

My landing page is live right now. I haven’t seen significant results yet, but I’m proud it’s running. That in itself is a win and a huge step forward from where I started.

Start simple and keep your goal in mind. If you learn visually, I highly recommend watching some quick tutorial videos. I didn’t, and I learned the hard way. But even with that, I made it through with minimal issues.

Final Thoughts

If you’ve been putting off building a landing page, maybe you should try it again. I still have some areas that need work, as the landing page lists my YouTube Channel and podcast, which are still in development, but at least I have it up and running.
