Do not update to wordpress 3.9!!!
I just updated one of my websites and it is completely skrewed. All my adsense is acting super funny. The formatting is all screwed up on my pages and posts. They changed features in the editor, it made working with pictures all crazy. They have some major bugs to work out. So if you haven't updated yet, I would wait awhile, until they work out their issues.
New Update!!!
A new update came out for the theme I am using( weaver ii ).
Every thing is happy again at outofthepoorhouse.com. There are a lot of changes that have been made in the update and a lot of cool new features.
Warning:
Make sure to update all your plugins and theme if available. It was amazing how much this WP update affected everything in my site and dashboard.
I highly recommend doing some research on the update as well. I just watched a bunch of youtube videos on the WordPress 3.9 update and there is some really cool new features!

I updated and had no issues. Sometimes it's best to also have a paid theme with good support to help you through update issues. Often times with a WP update, the theme developer may need to update the theme.
Glad I read your post here. I was about to update to 3.9 yesterday, but for some reason I didn't do it, thinking I'd get back to it later and never did yet. Now, I'm glad I didn't and I think I'll wait a little bit yet until they fix some of the issues first.

I was just about to update wordpress but I'm slightly apprehensive now. I think I will postpone that decision for now.....yikes!
Maybe my theme does not get along the update. I am using the weaver ii theme. hopefully they come up with a theme update. Thanks for the replies.
I updated and didn't have any problems. I did notice with pictures when you want to add a link you need to use the drop menu and change to custom URL. Other than that I didn't notice much of a difference.....yet anyways :)
I haven't either, for the same reason. Have had nasty surprises with other updates in the past and am still very inexperienced with Wordpress.

Well it seems like most people aren't having an issue with updating. I think it mostly has to do with the theme I am using. I'm hoping they come out with an update for the theme soon.
I am really unhappy with what they have done with the photo editing. You no longer have an option to go in to the advanced settings. I guess I just need to get used to it.
