My Ideal Day

It's about 8:00 am and I am awakened by the sunshine shining through the glass windows in the cathedral ceiling of the bedroom in my beautiful log cabin home nestled in the Western Mountains and Lakes of Maine.

Even though the sun is shining, it is a brisk fall day.

I get out of bed, go downstairs and throw a few logs into the wood stove to help take the chill out of the air. The house smells of fresh cut wood and Christmas Morning Latte from the candle warmer in the kitchen. After feeding the fire I decide to fire up the coffee pot and make a cup of coffee.

While the coffee is brewing, I make my way back upstairs to my office overlooking my beautiful property. I log in to all my accounts, checks emails, respond to clients.

Ding!!!! Coffee's done. I go back downstairs to prepare the coffee and then it's back to work and helping to make peoples dreams come true.

After about 2 hours of drinking coffee and working online, I decide to log off.

I finally decide to get dressed and ready to take my beautiful, loving black lab for a hike. We gather our gear, water, granola bars, load up the Jeep and head on our way to Pleasant Mountain.

The foliage is beautiful this time of year. So many colors and the air is so refreshing.

Mia (the puppy) is having the time of her life. Sticking her nose out the window and smiling from ear to ear. She is so excited, and so I am.

We arrive to the hiking trail and Mia is going crazy. Pig running all over the place and splashing through all the puddles. I can't help but laugh at her. As we are jamming to the 80's and making our way up the mountain, we encounter a few other hikers with their dogs. Of course, it's a friendly sniff and hi from Mia and then we are right back to climbing.

After about an hour, we arrive at the top. I am in awe at the sight of all the mountains and lakes, especially with all the beautiful colors and foliage. So beautiful it will take your breath away and give you chills. I pause for a moment to think about my life and how thankful I am to be able to do this on a Wednesday morning without having to use vacation time.

We rest for a few minutes, enjoy our treats and water and head back down the mountain. It takes us about half the time to get down as what it did up. It's another fun filled ride for Mia until we get back home.

We arrive back home to check the wood stove, take a shower and make a healthy lunch.

While enjoying lunch I log back into my accounts, work on leads, place another ad, work on training and education and whatever other loose ends I need to follow up on. Feeling completely humble and satisfied to help others. While having my best friend and companion laying at my feet, exhausted from the hike.

After a few hours, I decide to take a break to pick up around the house and do some laundry.

Then it's back to working for a little while longer while I am waiting for the love of my life to get home from one of his plumbing jobs. He is a part time plumber/heating technician because he enjoys the work and helping people.

Hubby arrives home and it is time to break from work and spend time with him and Kayla (his daughter). I prepare a nice meal of steak on the grill with roasted red potatoes, corn and crescent rolls (hubby's favorite) while they relax playing games.

We enjoy the meal together at the table and talk about our day. We all take time to share what was the best part and what was the toughest or most frustrating part. Little do they know this activity is the favorite part of my day.

After dinner and our great conversation, everyone helps to clean up. Hubby and Kayla work on picking out a show or movie while I take Mia for her nightly walk to the end of the road. It is a gorgeous, crisp night. The sky is filled with sparkling stars and the moon is so bright that we don't even need a flashlight.

Mia and I get back from our walk and Hubby, Kayla and I get snuggled on the couch to watch the show/movie they have picked out. After the movie I am feeling a sense of love, completeness and comfort..... I am ready for bed.......and to do it all again tomorrow.

That's my ideal day WA. What's yours? Remember, no dream is ever to BIG!
