Thank you to everyone for your kind words and prayers at this sad time. Just to bring you up to date. It was my uncle who died it was expected but still a shock he had been ill for a short period. Unfortunately because our crematorium is closed due to repairs ( it burnt down long story ) we are having to use a neighbouring towns crematorium so we cant bury him until the week of the 14th September.

On a brighter note hopefully I will be back here next week. Take care everyone and once again a big thank you to you all

Ed

always sad to lose loved ones once again my deepest sympathy to all the family

My deepest condolences for your loss and I hope he has an amazing turnout.

Pinkabella...Please accept my deepest sympathies for the loss of your uncle. Hopefully, you have many fond memories to help you through this difficult time.

Like Fyre wrote, I've attended way too many funerals in my time and it never gets any easier. However, one thing that does seem to help those who are hurting is to share funny stories with those who have been left behind. While it doesn't erase it, laughter does help to ease the pain of your loss.

To that end, and not to make light of your situation by any means, I did get a chuckle over the fact that your crematorium is closed because it burned down. How ironic is that?

Even stranger, a long-time employee of mine passed away several years ago. So she didn't have to go alone, I took his wife to the funeral home to be with her as they cremated her husband. The Director explained to Evelyn just how the process would work...but I was TOTALLY unprepared for what happened next.

The Director asked Evelyn if she wanted to press the "ignite" switch, she said "yes." As she pressed the button, she turned to me and said, "I always wanted to light a fire under Billy's ass!".

Well, you could have picked me up off the ground! I didn't know what to say or how to react! However, that was just the first chapter in what became a VERY bizarre story which is way too long to tell now.

As I said, I don't mean to make light of your situation and I certainly hope I didn't offend you. I just wish I could wrap my arm around your shoulders to comfort you. However, since I can't, I hope a warm smile and a small, strange, personal story will help you in some way.

Pinkabella, know that you, and your family, will be kept in our thoughts and prayers. May God Bless you, comfort you, and give you strength!

Vince

No Vince you haven't offended me I found your story quite funny. It is ironic that the crematorium is closed, they had just replaced the old furnaces they were tried and tested and passed. The first body into the furnace and the whole place went up not funny for the people who's beloved it was but most people saw the funny side.
Like Frye I also have lost far too many also some way too young but without sounding uncaring life has to go on. You never forget and I don't think that you always get over some deaths you just learn to survive as best you can.
Uncle D was a character and well known and loved everyone has great, funny and sometimes shocking (in a good way ) stories of him.

Lady Pink...I'm glad that you have lots of fond memories of your Uncle. It sounds as if he was someone people loved to be around. You are obviously a strong woman, but never forget that you have a WA family that is here to give you strength whenever you need it. We WILL be thinking of you the week of the 14th! God Bless!
Vince

P.S. I am also VERY relieved that you found the humor in my story! You just never know...glad it did provide you with a chuckle! LOL!!

I am Geordie lass we are a tough breed, we gan oot in the winter wi ne coats on ya na. lol.

My Deepest Condolences,

My sympathies. Sorry to hear and wish you peace during this time.

I'm liking this post of yours for support purposes (even though you know this already.) Even when it's expected it's not easy. I have had too many deaths in my life, too many tragically young as well, as all proclaim, it never gets any easier but, the support we share and receive is never forgotten. May he rest in power and blessings on you and yours dear

I am so sorry for your loss,I know the feeling, but I also know that time will help the healing process. We will be here waiting for your return.

Thank you Clyde
