Behind The Scenes
In a play, the behind the scenes work is vital to what is happening on the stage. There is costuming, scenery design and production, sound, and lighting, among other elements.
In college, I once worked as a lighting person for a play, and it was important to do it perfectly, so an actor would be spotlighted when necessary, rather than standing in the dark. (Nobody likes being in the dark!)

I'd say probably all businesses have some kind of behind the scenes work going on, and you can include politics as one of those "businesses."

Yes, true, And how much teacher's, blogger's activity happens behind the scenes.Housewife's, too. It takes you an hour to cook dinner, and it's being eaten within 10 minutes.
Or take a teacher. It takes you years to learn(the whole life to learn, actually), hours of thinking how to present things better and some minutes of a lesson to teach it in an easy way to the learners. :)))
