One field of my expertise is project management. My first contact was "accidental" when I had to present a project management course as a young consultant. Projects are not new, just see how the pyramids and the great wall of China still amaze us. However over the past 10 years the frequent use of project management for large and small projects escalated tremendously. Many entrepreneurs like you and me use the project management process and tools to achieve good results fast.

Through the years the approach grew on me as I saw the benefits of the project management approach. You know exactly what you are going to achieve before you start. This enable you to identify all the tasks beforehand and set up the resource requirements. If you complete tasks one by one it may take a very long time to complete a project. We have much more speed if we can do some of the tasks simultaneously and delegate to other people as well. For tracking and monitoring a Gantt chart is just the tool you need.

Prioritising your projects is very important because it will have an influence when you will make money on which project. Do you try to complete one project first or tackle three of them at the same time? This will depend on your specific situation but there is a process that you can follow to determine where to start.
