Finding My Niche, And Trusting The Vibes

Sooo, I found my niche. Though it didn't take too long, it took longer than I wanted it to, really. Must have been overthinking things juuust a tad. But the answer ended up being right within my user name. And when something feels right, it feels right. You go with it, and don't question it too much afterwards. As one of my favorite psychics, Sonia Choquette, says: "Trust your vibes." ;)

Which leads me to an interesting point out of all this.

Two Conflicting Viewpoints

Out in the world, we have these conflicting messages. "Trust your gut," or "your intuition is inaccurate. Don't trust it. It's all guesswork, and guesswork is bad." The first message tends to come from those who do rely on their intuition and instincts, and it's never steered them wrong. They pay attention to those inner nudges.

The second message is usually from the skeptical, usually hardcore-science-minded crowd who tend to blow off the use of intuition as "airy-fairy," or worse. Based on my experience, they don't believe in using the intuition much, and they politely discourage people at best, or are outright vociferous at worst, if they're not the best communicators in the world. Or they just have a crappy attitude about life. I've either met people like this, or have seen them on YouTube, and the stubbornness they radiate is so NOT my bag, man. ;)

The Value of Listening To Your Intuition

Now, I'm not really hating on the science crowd just because they're into science. I'm fairly science-minded myself (just hear me go at it about the environment!). And I can be stubbornly skeptical sometimes. And that's usually based on lack of information. Once I have new info that makes sense? Well, okay, then.

But I'm not so stubbornly stuck in a skeptical mentality to NOT pay attention when something inside is yanking me firmly in a particular direction. That "something" is my intuition. I know it exists as my soul, or part of it, and it's real and valuable.

While some people liken it to exercising a muscle, which is an accurate analogy, allow me to give it more of a modern technology spin: I liken using my intuition more to making and receiving regular phone calls from a higher Source, which resides within us all--yes, even the skeptics. They just ignore the "phone calls."

By listening to your intuition and instincts, you essentially are placing that Higher Source in your "spiritual contact list," or better yet, speed dial. And the more Higher-Source-within "calls" you to look into something new that will benefit you, or return to what makes your soul happy, the better off you actually are. :) Try it out, and you'll find out what I mean.

How Listening To Intuition Connects with Your Work Via WA

"But how does all this pertain to what we're doing here at WA?" Excellent question. The fact that you are here, proves you followed your instincts to sign up, knowing deep down, even unconsciously, that it would benefit you. Next step? Follow the training, of course.

When you get to the part about finding your niche, and discovering the domain name you want to use for your site (if you purchase one and host it elsewhere--it takes a Premium membership to have a domain hosted here), this is where your intuition and emotions can step in just for a bit.

Because it's what you're passionate about, what makes you happy and jazzed when you wake up in the morning (or any other time of day you prefer--I'm a night owl, myself) that will prove to be the root of your answer.

For instance, as I said before, I realized my niche was right within my user-name. I love Broadway music, especially "Phantom of the Opera," but since "Phantom" would be such a narrow niche, I'd actually run out of things to write about, apart from constantly gushing about my two favorite guys that have been behind the mask. Exciting for me, boring for others. So, yeah, that wouldn't be the best pick.

Therefore, the other half of my username, 'druid,' made more sense. Since we're not allowed to write about religious/faith-based stuff here, I'll simply say that the word 'druid' is not just an RPG class. (Yes, I'm something of a gaming nerd. ;-)) It's something I've been passionate about for a good many years, and there's much wisdom I wish to share underneath the Druidry umbrella. Ta-da. There's my niche.

But unlike many other people, I didn't sit there thinking TOO long, either. Sure, I made a list of other things I was either passionate or knowledgeable about (and there are many!), but I kept coming back to Druidry as a niche topic. It was very much like a compass needle pointing due north, and every other direction I turned didn't exactly feel wholly wrong, but those directions didn't feel quite right, either.

"What If I Can't Really Think of Any Other Personal Niche That Works?"

Of course, there's nothing wrong with having affiliate marketing in general as your niche, especially if you really wish to promote WA and all the good the training has done you and other people. So the Affiliate Bootcamp might be the way to go for you. Still, you don't want to overthink things. Overthinking things comes from too much doubt, too much judgment and skepticism that "things won't work." As the song from "Frozen" says, "Let it go!"

No, I'm serious. Take some deep breaths, let go of the judgments and worry, and listen to the really good ideas that are brewing within based on the knowledge you receive from WA. Even if an idea only feels like an inkling, just grab onto that, Google it, test it out.

Hey, I'm advocating the use of intuition. I didn't say you shouldn't use all the appropriate business tools necessary to get your business rolling. ;) Just don't allow yourself to question your instincts--AND your creative urges--too much, because you could miss out on a really good thing if you do.

To reiterate: Trust your vibes, man! ;-)

I also have a problem with analysis paralysis! Lol, I think I'm getting better, but I know it has been an issue.
However, it definitely good to get started - because you learn so much from just taking action and creating your first blog/website, even if it's not something that sticks.
At the same time, it's important not to jump between niches....when I started, I went through having several websites on the go and I wouldn't recommend doing that. At least, not until your first website is somewhat established and making a bit of money.
Good luck going forward! :) Nat

The great thing about trusting your guts is that it transcends all scientific analysis and all the laws of probability. It is unique to you. When you come up with your niche just jump right in because one can become a success using any niche !!! Do it !

Thanks, Joy. I have an issue with "analysis paralysis," where if I over think things, I worry that I'm not choosing exactly the right thing. Intuition cuts through the BS that the judgmental mind comes up with, and homes in on the answer far more quickly than tons of anxious analysis will.

This said, I'm still all for testing stuff on Google because I gotta satisfy my scientific side too. But creating things is much more powerful when you pair intuition and methodical processes together. You kind of have to if you want to make a business out of your passions.

Very true. Best wishes
