I've update my Site name and description in the All in one SEO - General page. Do those changes require time to take effect or should I be able to see them immediately when I
I remember when I did the change, it didn't show up on google right away. If I wasn't wrong, it took a couple of days or maybe longer for Google to respond to the change.

When I enter a post from the Site Content/Editor I see the stats for Words, Paragraphs & Headings but they are not being updated after I make additions to my post. Is ther
Hi - once a post has been published, you can't edit it in Site Content, you have to use WordPress. Any changes you make in WordPress will not show up in Site Content.

when I do research on a topic and find info that is relevant to my niche is it wise or unwise to add these links to my post and thereby directing them away from my site?
One link (which can open in a new window) going to an outside authority is enough per post. Don't make it really stand out. It is for the search engines to see so that it helps your SEO. Jay suggests going to wikipedia.org because it is an authority site and people may not jump over to them when they read your post (because Wikipedia articles are "long, dull and boring").
I wouldn't add links pointing to my competition though. That would be counter productive.
Thanks David, that was one of my thoughts/concerns on directing to competition so will keep that in mind
Hi - its actually a good thing to link to other sites, providing they have authority on a subject. You can set the links to open in a new window, so visitors don't actually lose your site.
